Waw, I am not far from the place you explain 4 kilo , I'm from Kasanches you nailed it ! everything you said is true. I have no words to Thank you Sir! Peace
This the place and environment in which I grew up with and still I am in that mood with out lie and also even if I am far away ten thousands of miles and many years back in time !!!
You know what? You really made my eyes tear up a little bit. Everything you say is true. Everything comes back as a flash back. . Sweat but sad memories. I use to live somewhere in Arat kilo. Very Close to the palace( arat killo betemengist) about 20 something years ago. Those was the sweetest days of my life. After I came to USA that was the only good memories I have about Ethiopia in general. I missed all my friends whom I use to share everything. We use to laugh pretty much everyday. Addis abeba was not a sad city as that time. It was just a place of diversity. And no one question and asked where you came from or which tribes you belong to? It was simply a brother and sisterhood under the umbrella of great Ethiopia. Thanks to meles and his weyane politics, I lost that belongingness long-long time ago. I feel like I am an outsider. Pretty much a stateless. I was not born a stateless!! But I became one.
yes Addis Abeban,, weyane atiftowatal !!! minim yelem ! Addis Abeba diro kere !!! EDME LE tigray weyane !

Lots of work is expected Mr Kebur just to add on top of the example that you gave powers were used to order what ever they need overnight to execute and doing it wrong. The train now should have been under ground or out of the main roads but people are crossing cars are going towards the train fast. It is really scary to watch this scene. As you said they haven't got much traffic yet but if the traffic was heavy how would they manage the circulation of cars, trains and people (not to forget that we still have animals donkeys, cows crossing) if it is not built for future then it will lose the beauty of the capital city.

Seni Edi It is rare to say the gentle man among other things shared his idea of what a vibrant and a lively city is and what it consistes of.And the benefit and rewards it supposed to offer and the way and means the residents go about to help or reach for each other in the time of need. Due to his birth in Addis he was making comparison what Addis was like when he was growing up than it is now.In this connection he mentioned some neighborhood and individuals there as well as the community values then. Therefore, his explanation of the experience of the past might have sounded idimatic. In any case the moral of the story is cities need to be designed to accommodate the needs of all such as rich and poor , regardless of the population size. Provided the city is designed by soliciting input from the residents of the city who live there , then that will likely make the city accommodating to the needs of its residents. And the residents in turn will take care of it.
