I get really annoyed at people who have a go at people for going to Eton. If I had money I would want to use it to give my children the best education they could get, not just on a nice car for myself and a few holidays abroad. Yes it's not really fair how some people are born with wealth and won't utilise for as much good as they could, but it would be equally unfair to take it away. Also, using it to educate your children is one of the best uses of money in my opinion.

in the UK schooling is free - parents can choose to pay for private school if they want to. you can still do well on your A levels if you go to state schooling. education is a commodity - you can buy a hyundai, or a mercedes or a bentley - it all depends on your budget and your preference within said budget, but they're all cars and will all get you from point a to point b.

Aslo private schools do offer zero fees to any child who is orphaned or has lost a parent.

Didn't Eton's entrance exams in 2011 include a hypothetical question about how best to justify lethal force against people in the event of a violent protest? What kind of state school has exam questions like that? And what is with all the ceremony and traditional practises, like dressing up in those ridiculous costumes? Eton deliberately instills feelings of superiority and self-importance in their students, and trains them to not only have unfair advantage to get into Oxbridge over state-schooled kids, but to some day, run the country and enter top positions in government and finance. Don't even lie, you know it's true.

The middle and working class hate private schools because it is a relic of the old feudal system. Keeping the rich at the top and the rest of us anywhere else. Most of our politicians are snubbed up private school kids, only in their office because mummy and daddy could write them up a cheque.
@cg1727
9 жыл бұрын
Now, I don't hate the kids who go to these feudal system relics. They are innocent in the matter (unless they use their power and riches to infiltrate their way up the ranks due to their background). It is the system itself I hate. I attend a state school, and if I was ever to become a politician, I would be one who truly worked his way up. I hate private schools, disgusting places that represent elitism and tyranny. I hope in the future the people rise up against the state just like in Russia and France and other throw the ruling class, finally making this country equal. Not having some rich kids descended from royalty ruling the country just because of their background.
@kingsteve8083
9 жыл бұрын
Nocom TV Of course Russia then tried to instil socialism and it failed utterly. Nobody ever truly overthrows the ruling class; they just replace it with another. When the Russian Revolution happened it got replaced with the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, which was far more tyrannical than the Tsars ever were - Stalin killed 50 million of his own people. Overall, they'd have been better off with the Tsars. And France's economy is pretty crap. They're not a model that should be followed IMO. I agree with you though that the private schools are unfair. Public schools are fine: anyone who has the money can go. That's not a problem with me, but basing admission solely on who your parents and ancestors are to maintain that air of superiority is not on.
@christophersmith7229
9 жыл бұрын
Adaam Bream Im not from an amazingly good background. I do agree that private education is elitist, however they all offer scholarships and bursaries. So you don't need to be filthy rich to attend them. You just have to be proactive about getting in. I went to a private school, which my family broke their back to get me into. But my sister got in off a 100% bursary. You don't have to be a genius, you just have to prove that you are dedicated. So it's not "keeping the rich at the top", because Nocom TV, did you even try to apply? or did you jut sit there and grumble about how unfair the world is without even giving it a go?

Alexander McDonald you have no idea, from someone who took the test and is now on a bursary, aged 11 you take a test 2000 boys take only 260 pass, then aged 12-13 you take common entrance where you have to get over 75% in very exam to get in. Dont just make shit up...

Max M yes mate your right. I go to warwick (we've beaten you at rugby a fair few times aha ) firstly youve got to have an iq over 110 or something, get over 75% in the entrance exams and show that your a student with a large capacity to work, play sports etc

Haven't watched this for years. And it's still just as good as when they first did it. Does anyone know what these boys are doing now? They're probably in their late twenties
