Did you also used a jumper cable to the rear set of brakes, or if you have front and rear brakes you use a jumper cable from the front to the rear brake assembly?

I notice you installed the breaks in from wheels, is there any thing wrong if you install the brakes on the rear wheels?

If you're not planning on putting brakes on both axles, where to put them will depend on what type of a trailer it is. Most trailers should have the majority of the weight biased to the front of the trailer. It that's the case, put the brakes on the front axle. Boat trailers have more of the weight biased toward the rear of the trailer, in that case install them on the rear axle.
