Hi, Matt at Etrailer. If you find yourself going on a lot of vacations and you're finding that your 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe is running out of room in the back, or what's gonna be more likely, you have some items that are extra long that you can't fit back there, anything like ski carriers or a kayak, anything like that that you can't fit back here, then your next best option is gonna be a roof rack. And the one we have today is gonna be the Rhino-Rack RVP roof rack, so let's check it out. And really to help illustrate what I'm talking about, I've got a ski carrier up here at the moment, and you can tell how long this ski is compared to our vehicle, and trying to get it in there is not gonna be ideal. And on top of that, skis also have a lot of snow, dirt, anything like that, and so do kayaks, kayaks have a lot of water on them. That's gonna be some stuff you also don't want in your vehicle.
Now, this can also carry some roof boxes and baskets, and those are really nice too, but in most cases, I think this is gonna be a great thing for you if you're looking for those things that can accommodate longer items. And another thing to know about this rack we have today, this is designed to work with a flush rail vehicle. The way you can tell you have a flush rail is if you can come over to your vehicle and grab onto this rail on the side, then you have a flush rail. Now, the Santa Fe also comes as a naked roof option, and the difference there is you won't be able to grab onto your rail, it'll be naked up top. Now, if you also wanna be, you wanna just double check and be sure, you can plug in your vehicle's information into our fit guide to find the correct fit for you.
This is gonna be a great rack for you if you're looking for something that's gonna look pretty OEM on top of your roof just 'cause we have that clean finish to the edge of our crossbars. And this is gonna be something that pretty much lives on top of your roof. Now, I'll talk about that a little bit more later, but all that's gonna be partly because of this design. And this design is actually gonna be this crossbar that connects directly into our tower, and that's gonna grab onto our fit kit. Let's take a closer look at the crossbar first.
So we're gonna have tapered ends on both sides. What this is doing is giving us more of a smooth ride overall, so wind's gonna be able to flow the top of this a bit easier and help reduce that whistling. Another thing that's gonna help reduce whistling is this weather strip up top. It's also gonna keep debris from getting into this channel right here. We left this open just to give you an idea of what it looks like because with this type, you actually have to cut these down to size to really work around with whatever gear you have.
And then at the very end, at our towers, that's where we're gonna connect to. This is all gonna be connected through a bolt that really cinches down our crossbar to our tower. And to really get a better look at how the tower works, I'm gonna take off our end cap. This is what it's gonna look like underneath that end cap, and actually, I like this design for how simple it is. A lot of roof racks can have maybe two or three bolts you have to tighten into place and some other levers that go along with them. This is straight to the point, all it is is just this bolt that's going in and connecting to our fit kit, and that's connecting to our flush rails so everything's cinched down together. And it's nice to have a end cap that locks too because we just have that extra security so you don't have to worry about anyone coming by and taking off your roof rack. And then underneath that, this fit kit is really giving us a clean look overall. We just got these two plastic pieces that adapt into each other, and then this rubber pad at the bottom so we don't scratch anything up. But let's get a few measurements to see how this is gonna live up here. So the first measurement I wanna get is gonna be the total distance underneath the crossbar, and that's gonna be just about three inches. So you're gonna have plenty of space to put on any clamp-on accessories. Now, some situations to think about is if you have a vehicle that has a sunroof on it and you have some really bulky clamps, you might run into some fitment issues, or if you're trying to tighten something down, that could be difficult. Or if that sunroof expands pretty high, it could make contact, it's just something to really watch out for. And then our next one we're gonna get is the total height it adds to your ve
