The purpose of this film was to encourage people to donate money to support the work of the Red Cross and Red Crescent assisting South East Asian boat people. The film shows refugees from Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos living in refugee camps in Hong Kong, Malaysia and the Philippines. The League of Red Cross Societies coordinated the donation and delivery of supplies to the camps, and the Red Cross and Red Crescent societies in Hong Kong, Malaysia and the Philippines distributed the food, blankets and clothing, provided safe water and health care, entertained the children and, with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross, helping refugees trace family members. The film ends with scenes of refugees boarding airplanes to fly to countries which have accepted to resettle them.
