Hi There's another type of MEXT scholarship which is the scholarship for students of college of technology. I hope you'll make a video to explain it more because i have some unclear points i didn't understand well.

@@SurvivingEducation i read that the scholarship for the college of technology student last for 4 or 4.5 years and this scholarship is for specific majors. Some of these majors last for 7 years ( 4 + 3 ). Ok the question is "does this mean that the student who want to choose this scholarship have to study only for 4 years only than he must return to Tunisia. If the answer is yes, can he choose the scholarship for research students when he finish his studies in japan. And if the answer is yes, can he require this scholarship in japan. Another question. I think this question is easy. Can the student who took a MEXT scholarship return to his country and the scholarship stay work? I'm sorry because I have a lot of questions and if my English isn't that good.

You can extend the scholarship if the major you choose takes longer (I think), and there are other scholarships in Japan that you can get after you graduate as a college of technology student. As for your other question, if you get accepted in MEXT scholarship, you need to live in Japan, and you have to sign for the scholarship every month. You can leave for vacation, but you cannot go home and keep receiving the scholarship (you have to be in Japan while there are classes). One piece of advice, work really hard on your english because it is a requirement for acceptance in both MEXT scholarships. Get used to hearing it by watching movies in English (with and without subtitles) and try to read some books in English on topics you are interested in. Good luck!

So basically If you have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration for example you can't apply for the MEXT scholarship, right ?
@SurvivingEducation

You want to do an MBA? You can probably apply for some professional graduate program. Look at the official guidebook for more information (I think there is a link in the description, if not, check the official website of the embassy).

Can we apply for this masters research mext when we are in final year of bachelors degree or shall we wait to finish undergraduate, get certificate and then apply?
@SurvivingEducation

Thanks for the question. Apply before you finish because the process takes a year in total. You can get a paper that mentions your expected graduation date from your university to submit instead of your diploma.

hey, in the required documents there is : ' Certified grade transcript for each academic year from the last university attended' does it mean that I have to translate the grade transcripts and then do the certified copies? and about the 'recommendation letter from the president/dean or the adviser of the current university' is it alright if it is written by my professor?
@SurvivingEducation
3 жыл бұрын
For the recommendation letter, you have to ask the embassy. Is there a reason you can't get it signed by the dean? Universities in Tunisia are not as big as other countries, so it seems possible, but if you have a reason not to be able to do it, you should let the embassy know. As for the documents, always refer to the official embassy website. Yes, they ALL need to be translated and certified copied.

Hello! Thank so much for making this video however I'm an undergraduate student and I still can't understand how to fill the documents required correctly and didn't find help , even when I asked my high school administration I couldn't find answers. I'm from Tunisia too and I hope you can help me. Thank you.

What don't you understand exactly? All the information is on the embassy website, start by reading the application guidelines, then if there is something you don't understand, I may be able to help. Unfortunately I can't make a video about this because I am not familiar with the process. All documents and application guidelines: www.studyinjapan.go.jp/en/smap-stopj-applications-technology.html

I don't know what you mean by the first examination. As for your second question, you don't need to speak Japanese, but it will help if you learn the basics before the exam. Hello, great video! I am interested in applying for the Embassy Recommended MEXT Scholarship (as a research student), but before applying I have a number of questions and I would be really grateful if you could help me understand what I am getting myself into before applying. You mentioned doing research for a minimum of 6 months before being able to apply for a Masters's degree, I wanted to know if how can I determine the time period of doing research? (for example, if I only want to do 6/1 year before applying does that depend on the research program offered?), another thing is after doing research for say 6 months, can I apply for a degree in Japan outside of the institution that I am doing research in? Another thing is do you recommend reaching to universities during applying for the first screening and if so, what advice do you have when reaching out to professors? (Like what do I say since I haven't gotten past the first screening and as a foreign student?) . The last question is how hard it is to get a part-time job in Japan with English as your main language? Thank you for taking the time to read this and answering me, the application process is really rigorous and I want to make sure I understand what I am getting myself into beforehand.

1) You can do research in one university, then when you apply for Master's, you can choose another university. Though, if you make that change, you will have to justify to both professors why you are moving AND the professor you are doing research with has to write a recommendation for you, so you SHOULD NOT leave on bad terms. For your other point, I mention it in the video, you can choose how long to do research for (before Master's), but it is not only your decision. You have to talk to your professors and explain why you want to do it for a year, six months or whatever. 2) I made another video explaining how to reach out to professors and my advice on what to avoid: kzitem.info/news/bejne/16-e0YSbimtkaI4 3) It is very easy to find and do a part-time job. They are constantly recruiting for English, French, and programming teachers, among other things. You can also do work in your field (part-time) and get paid for it (depends on your field). Good luck with your application!
