it's amazing and possibly a game changer. I would put the homebase in a really secure non obvious place. If someone does break in they will definitely grab the homebase if it's easily seen. I just wish a company would send me out funky stuff like this.

hi, thank you, I found your review useful. I have a question - coming from another manufacturer, I had an event where I spoke to the person near the camera perfectly fine, I was not home and we agreed on where to leave the parcel (I used the call button to initiate the conversation) but after the interaction there is no video proof of that. Why is this and how do I work around it?
@Wanderer001_Reviews
Ай бұрын
As far as I have tested with this and other cameras most don't automatically record when a conversation happens. To get around this right before you start a conversation tap the record button and then start the conversation. That will get you the recording you are looking for.

Not worth it, if not ONVIF standard, because you can't connect it to an existing CCTV system. Aside of that, a comparable Reolink Argus costs half the amount.

@@tabs9183 ONVIF stands for Open Network Video Interface Forum. It's an open industry forum that provides and promotes standardized interfaces for effective interoperability of IP-based physical security products. @@tabs9183 With other words, if you have a modern DVR to record your footages, you can connect any brand camera, as long it supports ONVIF. A camera, that just saves its footage on a SDCard, does not provide any secured footage. Think of the case that the burglar just rips it off your wall and steals it together with all the other stuff ;-)
@Wanderer001_Reviews

I agree that not having the ONVIF standard is a limitation of this camera but not everyone has the money or space to set up that type of system. That is where these types of cameras can come in to play. However, if you are gong to look at a comparable camera from Reolink the one that matches this pan tilt dule lens is the Argus Track. Which when not on sale is actually a little more then the S340. If you are trying to compare apples to apples. I have tested Reolink cameras before and do like them, but I feel they can be a little much for your everyday consumer.

@@ronnydidit The S340 can save its video footage to the eufy Homebase 3, which is situated in a persons home. It acts like a DVR system but is simpler to setup. Admittedly it will only work with eufy brand cameras.

Like all Eufy battery powered cameras, it will die in a couple of years. Since the battery is not replaceable, it is basically a throw away. So the question you want to ask yourself is do you want to buy a set of new battery powered cameras after a few years or look for ones that the batteries are replaceable.

Installed mine about 4months ago and per instructions charged the battery fully and mounted it with the hope that if the battery level declines, then it would draw from the solar. It has however died on me and did not integrate with its solar panel as expected for continued functionality. Camera is set up in an area with plenty of sunshine. Any advice on how to resolve this?
