What a lovely work. How many composers are there like d'Albert, largely dismissed and forgotten? What a shame.

Thanks for posting this! I have a tape somewhere of Feuermann playing it, but haven't listened to it in years. Today, somehow, the composer's name just popped into my head and I found this on KZitem!

Einfach wunderbar!

it's a nice piece indeed ! Tell me, Mr. Bartje, do 'cognoscenti' file D'Albert simply under 'German', or do his British/Austrian 'periods' feature at all ?

To make it even more complicated, he moved to Switzerland in 1914, became a Swiss citizen. and is buried there.
