I've been a professional firefighter for 29 years, this is the first time I've ever seen a steam engine actually operating. I've been around plenty of steam tractors, but this beats them all! If I ever hit the lotto.... !

I love watching this. These steamers (when they're up to full steam) can pump as much water as the engines of today. It has been said that the steam whistle had two purposes: 1) They were the engine's sirens when responding down a crowded city street. 2) They were used to signal for more coal or wood fuel for the furnaces while working a large fire.

Aww, man, what a beautiful fire engine!! Wow, notice the straight column of smoke shooting straight up from the smokestack. Neat!!
