Thank you so much for this video. It was so easy to do after watching. My clog was in the same space and now hose has perfect suction.

Fabulous! This fixed it exactly. They really should tell you about this area in the manual. I found I did not need to unscrew the screws just Turn the little Gray Switch point to the left. I am glad because my screws were stripped!

Thanks, YOU'RE the BOSS!! Such a simple 5 minute fix! You saved me having to buy a new vacuum. Just be sure one has a star tipped screwdriver (don't know official name, never knew why I had these in my toolbox, now I do). Also, as another pointed out, the 3rd screw is UNDER that BIG GRAY button you turn to the unlock (left) side using flat tip screwdriver, then manipulate this section out to the side, and presto the 3rd screw! Appreciate you taking the time to share this fix. You Tube is by far the most innovative website!

Excellent video! You diagnosed my problem exactly. I took off the hose right at the joint you identified and was very surprised to see a pile of dirt come out AND I regained the suction the vacuum had when new. I had 1 piece of ceramic tile that was somehow sucked up in the hose and then months worth of debris backed up behind it. Many thanks!

Great job.....you just saved me alot of money by showing me how to do this myself. By watching this, I went right to the problem and cleaned it out. It works fine now, THANK YOU!! I'm sure the local vacuum repair guy would have LOVED to look at this and keep it for several days and then charge me a big price for all his "hard" work and expertise! ;-)

You are awesome! that is the problem/solution! I always made sure to keep all the parts and filters clean but never realized this area needed help. One of the things I always loved about this vacuum cleaner, the hose suction and it was letting me down. Now to figure out how to replace the power cord! thank you

The third screw is underneath the grey plastic locking circle, not on the left side where he jiggles it.

Wow, I wish my dad was here to watch this video. (Sadly he isn't but I pretended anyway ). About 30 sec into it, I hit the pause ( and pretended he was standing next to me and we were watching this together) so I could comment out loud on your mechanical diagnostic prowess. i.e. after changing the HEPPA filter and bag , the suction hose still did not work !? I / we had a big laugh : ))). Thank you 33Watch3r

I'm not getting any suction from anywhere! ?? taken apart. cleaned. new bag. no air being blown in to the bag. huge amount of air being sucked out of the compartment where the bag is and out the hepa filter. sooo much air that it sucking the vacuum bag flat.??? no clogs. beater brush seems to be running the right way. down toward the floor. cant understand WTF is going on. any help??
@rocknrollermann

SOLVED: you have to have the cover on in order to close the system so it will create enuff air flow from the floor. that's what it seems to me. I have terrific suction from hose now . ok , from the floor. run the vacuum, turn off and quickly remove cover. i saw that the bag was fully extended, as it should have been . when i turned vacuum back on, with out cover , the bag instantly went flat. Interesting. P.S. did have a clog in floor hose not far inside from intake.

Carlos Saldivar There may be a clog, a clog would cause the vacuum to overheat and activate the internal thermal shut off.
@gadsdonflag4289

It will shut off automatically when plugged like that so it won't overheat. Clean the tube and let it set for awhile. Mine started right back up after that. ;-)
