What a great day catching! I'm glad to hear you say you are going to slow down on purposely pursuing big fish. You had a beautiful creek, beautiful weather and beautiful fish. My motto: as long as I catch one it's been a good day!

Phenomenal small stream day filled with 9”-14” wild browns. Good job hitting the riffles once sun hit the water. I’ll take videos like this all day long.

NICE - better than sitting at home! Great fishing skills. The people driving by - "look at that crazy guy fishing in Feb and freezing - there are no fish in that little creek anyway."

Glad to finally be sitting down to see this. Very smooth and nice intro. Like I told you before, go out and do what you enjoy. I am glad to see you out having fun, catching fish, and making great videos. Keep up the great work Chuck. Your channel is really doing well. You are gonna beat me to 2K :) Well deserved. Look forward to fishing with you this spring and summer. Tight lines buddy!

Thanks a lot Mike! I don't think so, but again I don't see it as a competition because anyone who subs to one channel can sub to another and it's all free. I appreciate the good words and support though. 👍

@@Brownsylvania I agree with you. Never about awards or competition. I look at it as more of connections and blessings. Very lucky to have a hobby I love doing, can record, and people actually enjoy watching it. Just crazy. Not to mention, I have gotten to meet some pretty awesome people, like yourself, and fish with them. Keep up the great work!

Nice video... Well done... You have a point about "Getting Back to Core Fly Fishing" It's very easy to get wrapped up in "Head Hunting Bombers" Lets face it! They are a trip to catch&release... It is not always easy to handle a 20'' plus Wild Fish.. Fishing smaller water that hold Wild Fish is also a trip... There is So Much more to Fly Fishing then just Catching a Fish... Its a Journey of Discovery.. Maybe I will see you out my way again... Tight Lines & Waders that dont leak...Thanks

Thats good work, Chuck. You mentioned using the 20 lb and 10 lb mono. I’ve tried a few different combinations too and found the 15 followed by a couple feet of 12 works out pretty well. Keep ‘em coming.

Great job Chuck! Spot on as usual, I fish many similar size, type and varying depth creek's as well and was wondering if you remember the length of your fluro leader? Thanks!
@Brownsylvania
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! Yeah once I get to the stream (if it's a stream I've fished before) I'll put on a length of tippet for the deepest place I know of and then if I fish shallower areas just hold your rod tip higher so that the flies don't drift as deep.

you killed it here! question when czech nymphing i often lose visual of the sighter due to glares or just not great eyesight. What do you recommend i was thinking putting a weightless indicater on the sighter just so i can find the line faster?
@Brownsylvania
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! You could do that, but what I recommend is tying a blood knot about 12 inches up from your tippet ring and then keeping about 1 inch of each tag. It helps immensely without adding weight or sag. If that doesn't help try adding a different color to the leader or you could definitely try adding the weightless indicator.

It's honestly 50/50. Depends on how aggressive the takes are, how heavy the flies are and how "in contact" you are with your flies.

In this video it's an Aventik carbon fiber net from Amazon, but I recently got myself a new FishPond Emerger net after losing my original one back in the fall.
