0:55 just listen to the mighty roar coming from behind from the typhoon before it starts it’s display. I love how it enters it’s display at around 500knts then into a 9G turn and into full reheat.❤️❤️❤️

Very good audio, that's the closest video to the actual sound of being in the midst of the jets thrust. Definitely recommend listening with a decent set of headphones.

Thank you! The mic did a really good job, and so good for the price too. I had to turn the gain down really low, because the first time I attempted to record the Typhoon in portrush with this mic, it clipped an awful lot hahaha

0:14 you can hear the announcer giving a quick warning about the noise when the euro fighter typhoon displays cause it’s absolutely ear-shattering. This also applies to headphone users watching this video at full volume cause the audio in this video sounds indentical when your there.

I'm speechless because how is an aircraft that size extremely deafening and ear splitting.Is it something to do with the engines??? 😮😮😮
@Tstorms

It's so loud because the exhaust plume is supersonic relative to the surrounding air! Turbulence structures in the plume moving faster than the speed of sound create an earth shaking crackle. All this is from two very powerful engines with a very low bypass ratio

Well the loudest plane ever made, aka the XF-84 Thunderscreech is a turboprop aircraft and it’s way louder than the euro fighter and in fact anything that has an afterburner as it’s loud enough to be heard 25 miles away in IDLE as it’s prop tips go supersonic even at idle. No afterburning jet can be heard that far even at full power as the most you can hear them from is 15 miles in good condition. The XF-84 is small as heck too. Now just imagine how loud it would get at full throttle. I have seen one of them in Dayton Ohio and was shocked about it’s size. Really wish that one day, someone would build a flying replica of it that is built exactly the same way and is just as loud as the original but is much safer to fly so it’s used for air shows. I bet that it’s prop tip noise is gonna be something very extreme

There are two sound sources in the exhaust plume. High frequency small scale turbulence and low frequency large scale turbulence. The large scale turbulence is what produces large firework like dull crackling because it is convected by main stream of jet. Small scale turbulence is also convected by the main stream and also make sonic booms. But they are sharp raspy sounding compared to dull crackling of large scale turbulence.
