I love that line. The movie for the most part is a pretty silly comedy with second to none truly serious or tragic moments (which is not a bad thing, I absolutely love it). But this one line added so much emotional background to the character of Lemtov that it made him so much more relatable and tragic in an instant. His character is brilliantly written and even more brilliantly portrayed by Dan Stevens and to my own surprise he has become one of my favourite characters of all time.

Lemtov was great. He never pressured Sigrit; in fact, he was a good friend and was there when she needed him. He respected her rejection of him and celebrated her successes, as well as the successes of the other competitors. He never directly schemed against Lars -- he only told Sigrit what was true (at the time). So yeah, blessings on Lemtov. 🇷🇺🦁♥️

At first I thought that lemtov is bad. But then I remembered that Lars is 90% of time is an asshole, and that Lemtov was just trying to open Sigrit eyes, that she is performing with an idiot. Also, throughout the film he acts himself as a gentleman, so I was really surprised, that the antagonist in silly comedy is more complex than just “bad. He is bad, cause he is bad. What do you want from bad person?” Btw, really great songs in the movie, I thought it would be a complete joke, but even when they are full of irony they are still beautiful and that’s great)

@@rockoman100 actually, I think it's kinda realistic way of showing how we do feel about lgbt. Or Apostle, Legion, Breauty & the Beast, Vamps, Permission, The Man Who Invented Christmas, and this breakthrough performance in Eurosong? He recently signed with powerhouse agency CAA and he is sure to get much better scripts. There is no doubt in my mind that he will have an Oscar one day, given the right role. I think they also were inspired be the fact that within the industry both Bilan and Lasarev have been rumored to be gay for years, but like many others we will probably never know. The gay artists almost never come out in Russia, it’s still considered out of line. Even Kirkorov is still in the closet after all these years. Moiseev is one exception I know.
