Eustace, hope you never get so discouraged that you give up. I feel ashamed to be a citizen of the USA when I see stuff like this. Personally I think you should be able to eat, and drink whatever you want. WHAT "ashamed to be a citizen of the USA"! I think your concept of what it means to be a citizen is warped by what another bad citizens warped actions. That's like saying you have a good friends and a good family, then one individual in your family does something wrong, suddenly you're ashamed of your family. Nope be ashamed of your individual family member and proud of your family like Eustace is proud to be an American and his for fathers. Being ashamed of an individual bad American is the right thing to do. Don't be ashamed to be an American because of a few bad apples, be proud to be an American and ashamed of the bad apples. Like Eustace says, speak out and up against the bad apples. I don't think he said that because he was ashamed to be an American I think he said it because he's proud to be an American along with the freedoms we have and the ones we're loosing. We need to protect America because it's a great country with a great past and the best laws in the world. We just need to fix the ones that are put in place by the Leftists who wish to control EVERY aspect of our lives from, what we eat, to what we think, to what we say, "For the public good"! Best Wishes n Blessings. Keith Noneya

@@keithnoneya I think what this person was ashamed of is the government and ALL of it's entities. You know who I'm talking about. They are the ones that usually have letters to make them feel more important and powerful. (FBI, CIA, FDA) and so on. Eustace Conway is an intelligent person that realizes that these government entities are, and have been for a LONG time, invading our privacy and personal space. I'm sure the signs out front that said "if you dont have an appointment you will be turned away" meant those entities as well as a private citizen. I happen to really like Mr. Conaway and what he stands for. I also like the fact that he has essentially taken on the developers to keep the property nearby UNDEVELOPED so that we can all appreciate the beauty of the land. Eustace can teach a lot of young men & women how to be self-sustaining, the way our parents & grandparents grew up, & that's something to be proud of. Many of the natural houses that are on turtle island are handicapped accessible. +Eustace Conway When I was a child from 3 year's old, until the age of 13... I lived about forty miles outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. I learned valuable survival skills, how to track and hunt animals, and we had natural springs to carry water up our steep driveway hill. We ate rough grouse, snowshoe rabbits, moose, caribou, and fished. We learned to respect animals and to hunt for only what our family needed. My friends still living in Alaska tell me how much the laws have changed there! It's unbelievable!!!! Like on your "Mountain Men" series, my six siblings and I did a lot of hard work. We grew our own garden's, kept them weeded and watered. We set our own rabbit snares, skinned them, and cooked them ourselves. I agree with you that the wild meat is much more healthier than store bought. We had no running water and it took a long time for us to have electricity. I would love to go back to sustainable life one day. I now live in South Central, Kentucky. I am very sorry to hear about the government giving you a rough time of it. I'm part Cherokee and Blackfoot Native American, myself. Instinct is in our blood. I always wanted to learn the ways of our ancestor's. Unknown,, what an ignorant ass thing to say... All this beautiful man is doing, is living the life the way we should all be so lucky to be able to live..., How the heck do u think EVERY Ancestor of ANYone has lived and that includes your own..., Technology AND government is taking the basic rights and freedom not to mention well being of all citizens... Bet not ONE person on turtle island suffers from depression and anxiety... sounds like an AMAZING and peaceful life to me.... I’d HAPPILY give away all my possessions to be a daily contributing part of this beautiful place he calls Turtle Island..... I’m from NC myself and won’t even get started on their moronic and strictly monetarily driven state they are.... I also moved away because of their obsurdious way of doing things... But damn those mountains still in my bones and I miss them GREATLY!!!! I pray they give Eustice Conway a break before he stops doing the wonderful things he does .... That would be a travesty... God bless you Eustice,, and turtle island..

I live in southwest Va maybe 2 hr away from here and our water to our house is SPRING WATER...I have to go clean the spring everyday and still sometimes the cows still get in to the head of the spring and shit in our water. then gotta go clean that. We also kill our food year round even during summer we have to. we grow our own garden and also forage the woods for food. My 4yr old daughter just the other day got very sick cause she had been with me picking mushrooms to eat the day before and she went out to the woods and found her one and just started eating it raw an uncooked... made her very sick so we made a paste with wood ash an water and made her drink it. she was feeling better in no time. I love that my family doesnt have to depend on the goverment for anything....We provide for ourself just fine...And yes we have modern things such as this tablet Im writing on, but we have to go to our granny's house to get power and service an we do this each day then in the evening go back home to our cabin in the holler.... I love being a mountain man... God bless us all...

All the government was trying to do to Turtle Island Reserve is so wrong. I'm so sad and maybe even angry!

Makes you wonder why they are so offended by your lifestyle that is so natural. Why is this offensive to them? God bless you and protect you from the people who can't seem to just leave you alone to live your way on your land.

Just like Sue Aikens @Kavick..she cannot serve her visitors the common food there, she must buy food for them..how is someone to understand & learn that way of life if they are not allowed to participate in fullness..My hat is off to him in all he does!!!

It’s the bureaucracy that is terribly out of step! Certainly not Eustace and his approach to better living.

My mother is a hundred and one years old. I am 58 years old there has been a spring on this property since day one when my mother moved here and father many many years ago I know live here and I have a spring I do have it tested because they're only worried is surface water. Well water in the country can be full of sulphur iron and many other undesirable minerals where is spring water is natural and filtered

I see it is more acceptable to be homeless and live in city eating food thrown out in garbage cans or just off the streets or sidewalks urinating and defecating in allies and corners of buildings. Yet being taught how to live cleanly in an open environment is unacceptable.

I don't see how the Government can say that way of living is hazardous, unsafe or anything else, when this was the way of life in early America for generations, and we thrived.
