Goodness, you've had quite a busy weekend. You brought us complete data and you presented it professionally. You are part of many EV owners learning curve. I enjoy watching and learning from you as well. Looking forward to your next video. Regards H

Thx, but in actuality it was just a morning drive to RDU & back. I shot the two vids there and was home by lunch. This is a fun past time for me, so the effort is all in the entertainment category, but glad you enjoy.

The three cabinets are v3.5. Also, the magic docks will benefit the variety of EV rentals being returned to the airport that need to charge.

Thanks, Walter! That was an awesome review of a great looking site. I know people have been critical of Electrify America placing dispensers in that configuration, but it really is one of the cleanest ways to support all vehicle types. I wonder whether people will be more open to the design concept now. Also, this is another data point in a funny trend I've noticed. I don't think I've ever given an "A" score to a site that didn't have full, pull-through stalls. That's all it would have taken to push this site past a strong B+.

Big miss if you ask me. They could of easily added one or two pull through at the end near where the LYRIQ was parked. EA seems to be doing that with some frequency at their new sites now too, so hopefully the future will have more A sites. As for the layout design, I think this station will be swarmed with rideshare. The black van seen in the video was an executive ride share waiting for a call. I think with all the usual suspects for ride share, bolt, polestar, TesM3, etc, having a flexible design like this will serve them well. Thx for the thoughtful input.

Yes, that site will be a real winner, Walter! Glad to see that these v4 Superchargers have Magic Docks. Since the J3400 adapter rollout is now so delayed, I at least hope to see more of these Magic Docks proliferate. Too bad you couldn't plug in your Lyriq there yet: I would have liked to see its charging stats.

Wow, one of the rare Tesla SC with a canopy. Would be nice if more super chargers came with them - the canopy would help reduce charger UV damage and keep the handles cooler so they won't derate.

Thanks, Walter for the video. Appears that, like several other recently opened V4 Superchargers, there are no stall numbers on the individual dispensers. (Very frustrating for drivers using the Tesla app.) Somebody get Tesla some stick-on letters & numbers!

This site was not activated yet. It has been reported that Tesla doesn’t put the stall number labels on until the site is tested and activated by a Tesla technician. If that is correct, then there will be labels when customers can charge.

Thanks for yet another very informative review. As I may have already mentioned in one of my other responses to one of your offerings, I live in the greater Raleigh area. Love that this station has the Magic Docks. Now if only the confusion is cleared up as to whether I can charge my vehicle (a Lyriq) at it. I pulled into what was supposed to be a Tesla station with Magic Docks in Suffolk, VA earlier this month. Saw no Magic Docks, nor could I figure out how to get the Tesla app to even work when I entered I was driving a Cadillac. I am probably not doing something right as it can't be that hard. Appreciate your work!

So Mr. architect, would you agree that 1.5 MW is the gross output that you would have to plan for 80% for continuous utilization? If so, and all 12 stations were used, he would be limited to 100 kW per stall. Substantially lower than NEVI requirements, Though I know it’s not applying for that. I do agree it’s a beautiful location and Fabolous being next to a 24 x 7 store
@thenetworkarchitectchannel

Yes. That is correct. TesSC was engineered for a specific purpose. To provide Tesla owners a reliable way to road trip. Over years of analytics and tuning we have what you described as common. They understand 100% occupancy is a rare occurrence. They have a big problem now that the factors have changed. NEVI & other OEMs dramatically adjust their engineering requirements, which by my estimation they are not ready for.

Great site visit & tour of this soon-to-open station! We should all be so lucky to have something this good on our travels. Walter & Eric - is it just me or does it seem like it's impossible to get 50/50 because two of the scoring categories are mutually exclusive? One category gives a point for having other stations nearby, while another category gives a point for being located in a charging desert. A station cannot be both, can it?
@thenetworkarchitectchannel
Ай бұрын
Not impossible, but near which it should be IMHO. Perfect should be an aspiration instead of a common score. Most should be a 37ish and good ones like this get into the mid fourties. To hit perfect, you need to be in a charging desert with something you can get to on your own network just outside the desert with a massive amount of chargers near a point of interest with a canopy and pull through with both snack and meal options, trash cans and squeegees as well as a place to walk your dog. Haven't seen it yet, but perhaps the new TesSC station in Yeehaw Junction FL will take the prize. It is said to be a 200 stall

They should have turned the charging pedestals 180 degrees such that the cable terminus at the pedestal is directed towards the other pedestal. Would provide greater freedom for different vehicles and parking directions. Looks like a nice layout otherwise.

Walter I'm a little confused on this dispenser setup. Excluding the single ADA dispenser, how could I avoid being blocked in if I picked a dispenser to charge that's closest to the curb/trashcan and someone drove up and started to charge on the dispenser next to mine? It seems like there's no way to maximize the number of cars that can charge at the same time with this parking set up.
