Since there is no need for a yooje engine to consume a lot of volume in one spot, the motors can be smaller, and placed onto each wheel, which lowers the center of gravity contribution the engine used to make. The same with the batteries, the heaviest component in the vehicle. Low to the ground adds stability. Plus, we no longer need all the complicated shapes of the support beams. And I just had a thought: Battery packs should be designed to crumple on impact, not only folding each cell onto the next, so they stack and absorb impact momentum, but also disconnecting each cell from the others so the chances of a fire are reduced.

Yeah! There already exist hub motors where the motor, transmission and brake systems are integrated into the wheel hub. As the single hub motor can be driven independently, it is relatively easy to implement whether it is front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, or four-wheel drive. Plus, the hub motor can realize differential steering similar to that of a tracked vehicle by the different speeds of the left and right wheels or even reverse rotation, which greatly reduces the turning radius of the vehicle. Under special circumstances, it can almost achieve in-situ steering (but at this time, the vehicle steering structure and tire wear is greater), and is valuable for special vehicles.

But the hub motor works in a harsh environment and is affected by water, dust and other factors. It also has high requirements in terms of sealing. At the same time, the heat dissipation issue of the in-wheel motor needs to be considered separately in the design.

So, similar to a vw beetle chassis.

And Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess has hinted that a Beetle EV could be possible based on the automaker's dedicated electric vehicle architecture MEB platform several years ago.

@@BrogenEVSolution vintage voltage have transformed an old beetle into an ev. Did a good job, but was very expensive.
