Chinmay Jani, MBBS, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Miami, FL, explores evolving trends in tracheal, bronchial, and lung cancer (TBLC) mortality associated with air pollution and asbestos exposure across the ten most populous countries. The study reveals a global decline in TBLC mortality from 1990-2019. However, increases in particulate matter-related mortality were observed in several countries, including the USA. The analysis emphasizes the urgent need to address rising air pollution and asbestos-related health risks, particularly among vulnerable populations. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
