This song is almost 20 years old now and came out when I was in my early 20's. It's a song that defiantly hits harder today. Back then, to me it was just a great song by an awesome singer, now it's a very powerful emotional song. I can now relate to the lyrics, but not just towards a specific loss or relationship with someone, but towards my memories, my moments, and my mind. The older we get, the more the memories hurt, not just the sad and/or bad ones, like losing a loved ones, as I have lost both my parents over the last twelve years, but the good ones as well, like having a wonderful childhood, first getting marriage, your children's births and them being young, these memories of life, moments of time, will never be as great as it once was, as certain moments that will never be experienced again like they were when we lived them. My memories, both happy and sad, are slowly killing me as I can't let go and depend on them so much.

Perfectly said. I feel the same exact way and you put into words perfectly of how I've been feeling lately. Specifically childhood memories. Although good ones, they also hurt because I miss them and cannot go back and relive them, only cherish them all so much more.

It is actually not the fault of the guitarists; they are perfectly in tune. Most don't realize this but award shows/many concerts besides don't use a grand piano, but a digital piano inside a hollow grand piano casing to make things easier on the technicians (you can see the controls at the top of the video; also note that the lid would have to be open to place mics). The piano was transposed down a semitone and Amy (not having perfect pitch, like 99.9% of the population) didn't realize before she started. The orchestra is actually transposing their sheet music on the fly - an impressive skill, but you can still hear them struggling to stay in tune. Of course once the guitars come in and start blasting in F# minor overtop everything else in F minor, it's all over.

I don't think that's what happened. If you look at Amy's hand she is playing the song half a key lower. She is doing it consciously and not because the piano was transposed. Also, it would be extremely hard for a whole orchestra to transpose the song just like that on a live performance at an important event like that. I just think the band were given guitars and bass in the wrong tuning. It happens sometimes, unfortunately. It happened in what you want at Rock in Rio, for example. I just think that at the second they realized they were out of key they should have stopped playing so that at least Amy and the orchestra could finish the song in peace
@bimzki1
6 жыл бұрын
@ Pedro I agree with you. The band bass and guitar were not in the right tuning. Orchestra and the grand piano had a half a semitone difference in my opinion ( a little fraction). Amy was already confused before the band came in and that's why she was also out of tune in some parts. She should always stuck to her piano key no matter what and just let herself prevail as the main spotlight. She did it (follow her piano key) in the ending part somehow although she stopped playing the piano and that justified her. Mine is just a hindsight but it's very difficult to do in the actual situation to be honest.

For the life of me I don't understand why they didn't just leave the band out and let her play the whole song acoustic. I feel like they knew something wasn't right before the band came in. Either way, Amy handled it beautifully.

Totally agree, the person on the guitar, won't call him a guitarist fucked it up completely, the person on the drums did the same. Amy handled it as any true professional would.

she was talking about how bad it sounded because someone was WAYYYY out of tune. Sounds like the band (bass and guitar) was not in the same tuning as the piano/orchestra

Easily one of the sexiest women alive, with on of the best voices, vocal ranges and pure tallent i've ever had the pleasure to listen too. Absolutely stunning. You don't get the credit you deserve in the mainstream market.
