Hi Mr. Mobile - last year my office was so hot - I actually made a home made swamp cooler - with a foam box, small fan, and pvc elbow for air flow. I would fill with ice packs, etc. It helped - but wasn't great - but - my workplace saw it and they felt bad and they got the air fixed. So - I guess it worked in some way. Love your videos!

I love this review. Living in NYC where we have hot and very humid summers I was dubious that the Evapolar would work. I do hope you get your hands on a Noria air conditioner when it comes out for a review. Again, I am doubtful because it's only 5,000 btu's and it does not seem very quiet. The best I've found was a low profile LG 6,000 btu window unit but it has been discontinued. Frigidaire has a low profile air conditioner that mimics the LG but is not nearly as good (louder and not as cool or compact). Until then, as of 2017, it doesn't look like anyone has built a better air conditioner.

Mr Mobile, what I'm seeing here seems tantamount to a desert cooler here in India. Its just exactly what this box is, only like 5-6 times larger. I don't see what's so different about this one...... and thats kind of been heavily used for the past 20-30 years now here.

These type of air coolers are used in India for the last 40-50 years (working on same principle) but they are big enough to cool your hall/ room/ bed room, also they are bulky but gives good results if humidity is low in air.

Physics professor here gives Mr. Mobile the thumbs up for properly referring to the energy from the light as "thermal energy" and not "heat". Of course if you used LED lights, the amount of non-visible energy generated would be noticeably less. However, I suspect LED lights of the intensity that you require may be a bit pricey. Maybe review mobile lights next?

Hey, have you considered going to LEDs for your studio lighting? Brandon talked about (reviewed? can't remember) theirs over at Linustechtips, and they're definitely a lot better for heat output. You could also do your own with Cree's COB LEDs, such as the CXB 3590s. Their CRI is divine; I use them around the house for general purpose lighting, because they draw out so much more detail in everything!

Try putting icey water. Pretty sure that'll make it more effective. I find this interesting because in underground mines (deep underground it gets really hot) some mines build spray chambers for spray cooling. Similar principal of heat exchange but with direct contact of water particulates with air rather than a filter.
