Would it be best to look into ammo or supplies at the start that are specific to the faction in that region because it would sell quickly or does it not matter?
@evemogul
10 жыл бұрын
If we're thinking specifically about station-trading I don't believe it matters in the slightest. Inter-regional trading, yes, you can start to look at faction/area differences, but for pure station I wouldn't let it concern you. Keep your eye on margins, volume and tails either side of the median price point on "any" item as per the vid and you'll go well!

@Robert Sawyer Games : first off get started in Station Trading and when you've reached say one to two hundred million isk you'll have a good amount of experience to start inter-region trading. At that point I'd suggest you use a T2 Blockade Runner and haul items between hubs doing Inter-Hub Trading. It's a natural progression from station trading, and if you have an alt you can easily cross-check prices to see where the opportunities lie. I don't think you need to spend buckets of isk on freighters just yet. Get your skills up first, start a little slow, and soon enough you'll be able to expand and gain much more momentum. Do I think you could become space-rich... ABSOLUTELY!! BUT... you'll need to put in the effort to get your core trading knowledge and experience up first, and do the hard yards on the learning curve. If you give it a few days or a week and think it's not working and quit then you haven't given it nearly enough time. Remember, it took me literally YEARS of trial and error to get this stuff down, and I had no videos, guides or tutorials to look at. So with all of the content available now, including a lot of Station Trading videos right here on KZitem by some other awesome Eve traders, I think you'll shoot up the learning curve a lot more quickly than I did!

+Eve Mogul Ok im new to Eve and want to ne a trader. All I see here is that you buy an Item for 60 ISK and selling it for 48 and then making profit with it.... Im really confused here Its not clear to me how you managed to get profit out of this trade.

He is right about the part when he mentions "you don't need a fortune of ISK to trade and make returns" I remember I was down to 30,000 ISK and I spent all night wondering, until i noticed the trend of the buy/sell orders, the buy orders were about 50% less than that of what the sell orders were, so I jumped at the opportunity, and messed with it looking for similar instances like that in other items. that night I made about 30million ISK, i'll never forget that. you can really do this given that you notice the patterns and trends of the prices and whanot. im not even good at math!!! lol

Quite an impressive video here. I had a friend in a 0.0 Alliance who was apparently a Trillionaire and he had done so by "Station Trading". In an effort to understand what that was I perused KZitem. This video was quite the eye opener for a side of the market that I had completely discarded thank you very much for your time. Although I now understand what it is I think I'd rather devote myself to the Indy side of things like Mining, Processing and Planetary Interaction. This seems like a lot of risk and time for not so great returns in comparison to making a 99% profit in Indy.

I'm an adventurer at heart. I earn my modest living through mining and exploring the ruins of W-Space. Dangerous jobs indeed, but that's what it's about when you live in null-security space. The problem is, I constantly need to convince my parents to buy me game time, and they're starting to get sick of EVE. So, I was thinking to begin installing my Planetary Interaction equipment when I said: "Screw this, I really need to maximize my income so I can buy PLEX by myself. Why not take a look at station trading?" So I was thinking that I should start inter-regional trading. With 20$ earned per week from mowing neighbor's lawns, and a 100$ credit card acquired with my cash, I've been thinking to buy myself some PLEX, buy myself a Charon and give it to my alt. Do you, Mr. Mogul, really believe I could actually become rich? If so, could you give me some extra advice? And thanks for the video! You got yourself a sub!

@evemogul
10 жыл бұрын
Joe S Yep that's one of the challenges, you do tend to outgrow certain items fairly quickly due to lack of volume. It does tend to get harder to hold the same great margins as volume and item price grows. Having said that though, sometimes you'll find some great price discrepancies which are short lived (check the price graphs to see if there's a short term spike or drop in prices) and if you can identify these and jump on then quickly there's definitely some awesome margins to be had.

My wallet is nice right now... over 700bil. When i've reached the trillion mark I'm going to find a guaranteed way to RMT my isk and invest the money into start up capital for an online reseller service in the MMO gaming industry, maybe even an RMT brokerage... or maybe a BMW 320d... I'm undecided.

My account reminds me everyday that you dont need mountains of ISK to be successful. I made my first Billion in under a month trading in skills and doing regional trading from an initial investment of $20 Million (10 million of which was spent on skills i needed to train). Fast forward six months (excluding the 3 months I took off playing eve) and my trade account has a estimated worth of 17 Billion made doing a combination of skill books, regional trading, inter-regional trading and station trading.

Wow! Your video was extremely helpful. But I'm still confused on how to sell these items that I have now acquired. In your example, you bought some ammo at 48.98 ISK per ammo, then sold them at 65 each. How were you able to sell it at 65 when everyone wants to buy it at such a low price? Thank you so much!
@evemogul
10 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard - I bought them by setting up a Buy order which shows up in the bottom half of the market window. So someone in Jita with the item sells them to me there at this low Buy price of 48.98 probably because they're in a hurry and just want to offload them quickly. Then I simply put them back up for sale in the Seller window which is the top half of the market window. I'm happy to be patient and wait for the higher sell price of 65. And those players who want to buy the item right away without waiting around (i.e. putting up a Buy order like I originally did) will just buy it from me at the higher price. I hope that makes it clearer. Thanks for watching!

Well I don't really know your skill level or what type of trading you feel most comfortable with, so it's hard to say exactly. However in my premium guides I start with 10million and an unskilled character and turn it into a billion in just over a month. So you can definitely do it fairly quickly if you have to, and once your trading empire starts to fill out and expand and income momentum does tend to keep growing.

rlstric1 Nice start! Mate the market is a fluid thing and it never sits still. Simply keep trawling the market for suitable items with suitable margins and be prepared to drop certain items and and take on new ones. That's just a part of what station trading is, and on a slightly different note that's also the same with inter-hub trading. Additionally, with that level of profit you'll be PLEXing your account in a week!! So you can spend the next 3-4 weeks doing WHATEVER you want, and that's winning Eve!!
@zacronzer

Hey i have some question. Will this work from 1 mill isk to 700 mill isk? Or can a week of trading (approximately 2-6 hours per day) enough to cover the price of ISK? And will a Freighter helps?
@evemogul
9 жыл бұрын
Zacronzer Zetto Hi! You won't need a freighter for station trading, in fact you don't need any ship at all as you never undock. You can start with 1 million isk and build to virtually any value you wish! As long as you put in enough time. I assume you're also asking about a "PLEX'? I would say that if you start with a low account value it would take longer than a week (at 2-6 hours per day) of station trading to be able to purchase a PLEX. If you already have a huge amount of isk however, it would be possible. It's hard for me to be too much more specific than that as I've never tried to go from 1 million isk to a PLEX using station trading alone. Thanks for watching!

A very professional looking video. It is a shame you are directing this at newbies. You spent an incredibly boring day at your computer and made about 0.75m isk from the starting 5k. Practically every other activity in game will make more ISK and be more enjoyable for the time spent. Station trading should only be done with a minimum bank roll of about 25m ISK. That amount opens up a lot more items to trade, and allows you to make better returns on your time that actually compete with other similarly boring gameplay like mining. There is literally no point "making good returns" on 5000 ISK other than to learn the mechanics of the market. You should also note that station trading in Jita is as competitive as it gets - half of the market orders there are run by bots and suggesting newbies go compete there is literally sending lambs to slaughter. Like my post, a rather big waste of time. o/
@evemogul

You say... "There is literally no point "making good returns" on 5000 ISK other than to learn the mechanics of the market." That's EXACTLY the point my friend. I'm teaching the trading noobs how to do it with a highly detailed tutorial and proving that they don't need to have anything other than 5000 isk to simply give it a go. It's that simple, and unfortunately I think you're over-complicating what this video is about. And given the huge amount of positive feedback I've received (you guys rock!) I can guarantee you that this video is nowhere near a big waste of time. Thanks for watching, and also thanks at least for the first line of you post.

Eve Mogul Yeah sorry I was too harsh. It's a good video like I said, very professional looking. I must have missed where you said it was for newbies learning mechanics - my bad nevermind. My irk is with those people you see directing newbies to do activities that are literally the most boring things you can do in eve (mining the big one, missions another, market? and other grinds...) and those newbies never seeing the fun side of the game and quitting with a wrong impression of Eve. I'd argue a newbie going to Jita with 5k to *compete* on the market IS a waste of THEIR time (unless it is just to learn mechanics) - not a waste of your time making a helpful vid for people. Chillax my friend and keep pumping out vids - I'll watch. ;-)

VyktorAbyss There are people who genuinely enjoy station trading / looking at charts and tables all day. I'm one of those people. Sure flying around and shooting stuff is fun too, but I actually really enjoy just trading. To each their own, I guess ;)

I understand why you suggest it, but spending $$$ on a bunch of fancy lights won't improve the content and lesson so for now it'll have to remain on the "I Want" list and not the "I Need" list.

Eve Mogul I understand but even a household incandescent light would do just experiment with lighting and it will up your production value tremendously. Sorry if i sounded too "needy". I thank you for making this piece.

i'm not sure i'd have the patience for this, but this is certainly one of the things that makes eve such a great game. i'm more of a pvp type of guy, fueling my passion by doing incursions (1 billion ISK per day). but still, a great video.

"pleasuring my woman": really? Dislike for the out-of-the-blue chauvinistic comment, grow up and join the 21st century.

Hi Tryaz, I'm not sure that 'chauvinistic' is quite the word you're after, especially given the context of the comment in the video, but I believe I get the gist of what you're going on about. I find it a shame that you'd write off a video that's got such a lot of useful content for other Eve players due to a jokey one liner, possibly taken out of context, that was injected with a handful of other jokey one liners and outtakes simply to liven up a subject that's often quite dry. And to be honest, in hindsight, if I made the video over I wouldn't take that line out. I can only hope that you took the time to watch the rest of the video and that you got some benefit out of what I taught, as that's the whole point of me putting it up. Additionally, I do have to give you big props for actually explaining 'why' you gave me a dislike. It's never nice to get publically trolled/slammed when you've put so much time and effort and resources into something however I do appreciate those who give constructive feedback. Which yours was in a roundabout sort of way. Cheers mate.

Yours was an excellent video which I would not hesitate to recommend for its instructive content, thank you for taking the time to add meaningfully to the catalog of EVE educational vids. To expand upon my initially abrupt comment I lament that such an otherwise excellent video needed to be coloured by a - in my opinion - unnecessarily sexually exclusive comment.

Well judging from the response it seems Eve Mogul knows his audience, lamentable though they be.
