So glad I discovered these guys on accident a couple years ago.

Don't believe i still haven't commented on this. Not at this house show but seeing this done live was FUCKING AMAZING. I'm really sad that EIB is done. Hopefully Jughead will keep being awesome.

I agree I was there too at a small show in Chicago right around this time. Maybe even this tour. but indeed i was amazed when I witnessed this live.

007punkrawker This was my house at time. I think I filmed this in 2002? Maybe 2003. Eric was still the drummer for this tour and the original Lipman brothers. I still have the entire show on old DV tapes I'll re-upload one day with some of the non music stuff I filmed. Johnny and co came by a few times here. So I have three shows maybe? One at my house, then a show at a pub and then a year later at a club with the Queers. I just saw Johnny a month or two ago. Fuck maybe three, I dunno. He was in town and preparing for his birthday thing and invited me out which I kindly refused. But I heard it was fun. And saw some video of it. But I saw all those bands in their prime already. For this band I highly preferred them in this setting as John had planned it from the get go. Oddly enough, I remember him talking about a band that would play shows if there was no amps, and a year or two later this band was the band that came of that idea. And I really liked the early stuff. So I am glad I shot this with a good camera as I thought the sound quality was fuckin great. Wow. Time sure has gone by fast. We were still all so young here. John was in his 30s and we in our 20s. Maybe down the road once Liz is able to and John willing they can do a tour like this again. And that was the charm of the band and I'm not sure John truly got that. That that was why this band left an impression. It was personal and in the live acoustic house shows.

Huge Screeching Weasel fan. Pretty solid cover, I liked it. And I don't normally like covers of my favorite bands.

God, when they play that Fmajor instead of Fminor, it hurts my soul.

haha they seem to have this problem a lot, saw it in another video at the same show. They just play everything major, guess they never really graduated from power chords, lol.

Well, I'd like to try to give the benefit of a doubt before I throw my musical knowedge around. Even In Blackouts and Screeching Weasel are very aware of minor chords. That doesn't mean you need to choose to use them in all cases. You make a judgement call. It gives it a completely different feel. To me this song doesn't sound right with the full Fminor chord. Honestly it never occurred to me to use it, it is not needed.

You're absolutely right Jughead, the power chord can be used interchangeably with either the major or minor chord. But you can't really use a major chord where there's supposed to be a minor or vice versa, with a few happy exceptions. I think the problem here is that it's not just a question of power chord vs. minor chord, it's that the power chord is being played so amply that it's actually spilling into a major chord. No problem until it happens on a chord that is supposed to be minor. Then it sounds ugly.

I do believe it is still a choice. I know the scales. I still think it works better.

I'm just agreeing with what Christian said because it did sound a bit rough on my ears but hey, it's no big deal. The first time I heard this vid (years and years ago) I didn't even notice it. Tbh I think y'all are great and y'all have been a huge, huge influence on me (both of the bands, and you personally). So thanks.

I love Jughead, but I'm pretty sure Ben wrote the lyrics for this song and most of the songs on this album. I think Jughead addresses it on his KZitem channel.
