@@kurjan1 I did go to the gym 2 or 3 months in advance of going. I did the trek in May and my home has severe winters so I could do no walking or hiking before. After doing the trek I wished I had just focused on cardio. Walking up many flights of steps or using a stair climber.

This is encouraging. I am 59 now but looking at doing the trek at age 61 or 62. I'm pretty confident as I've done plenty of hiking uphill, including rough tracks on (small) mountains, play tennis and cycle for several hours, and average a bit over 20,000 steps a day. I assume most others in your group would have been young people. Was this awkward at all?
@christinemcritchie1359

@@Sproogle777 actually there was 1 close to 50 and 3 others in their 60s. Rest were 40 and under and a couple around 20. 2 got sick with cold, 1 suffered it out and the other took a helicopter back to lukla. I did get sick with diarrhea and throwing up the first night had to stay back because I was still sick the next morning. I continued the trek the following day. I did catch up to my group when they did an acclimation day but after being so sick the guide made me stay back a second day so I took a different route and caught up again and skipped the second acclimation day in order to finish trek with group. Met several people who had to turn back due to altitude sickness. My guide was very surprised I was able to complete the trek due to the fact I had no trekking experience.

4:50 : acclimatisation causes one to loose more water than usual through increased urination and that must be replaced. It is only 1 to 1.5 liters per day extra. Drinking a lot of water does not speed or help acclimatisation process, that is a common misunderstanding. So drinking when thirsty is enough.

Actualy i have found many of my answers on your video thank you so much. On Pangboche area some treckers stayed on Pangboche, some of them in Deboche and some of them in Tenghboche. İs this about price or altitude? Thank you again for this priceless informations.

That's a great review but one thing, does anyone ever have a beer in the tea house on the up or down track? It's very rarely you see anyone having a beer in any KZitem video. Cheers!

Thank you, yeah definitely mate lots actually, they do get a bit more pricey and further up the last thing I fancy is a beer😂 but they sell them everywhere

Excellent vidéo ❤ I would add the following: eat local food , have hand sanitizer to clean hands prior having a meal , wet wipes to clean oneself at higher altitudes and lastly a sleeping bag liner .
