Donald Marotta There are indeed some “surprises” in the ranking. I’m glad that the Godfather I and II are in the first and second position in the ranking. No surprise here!

the list is understandable because some movies got reviewed by more audience resulting in possible lower score, so its not exactly fair... well, can't complaint about audience score, thank you for counting the average from different sites instead of just using one👍👍

I also would have put some movies higher and some lower. Haven’t seen them all, so couldn’t make a personal list. I think for somebody looking for a movie to watch it’s a good list to start with!

Although I find it difficult to make a personal list...I would have put some movies higher and some lower. This list is made from the audience score from three different movie sites. Even between those sites there were sometimes significant differences in ratings👍✅

Casablanca is still incredible and Parasite is wonderful. Also The Artist absolutely deserved the win it got, amazing movie.

Don’t know about The Artist, haven’t seen it yet (it’s on my watch list) but Casablanca for sure is a good movie (it was a very long time ago that I have seen it). Parasite is another great movie ( I’m curious about the 2021 oscars, can’t wait 😃)

@Jeepman89 What “new agenda”? Green book is an example of white men thinking it’s their job to tell stories about black people, and failing. Moonlight is real life told by black filmmakers, not some glossed over Hollywood sympathyfest like green book

I admire what is being done, but realize that rating these film by these parameters (IMDB founded 1990/TMDB founded 2008/Rotten Tomatoes 1998), skews to the newer films and many of the older films score low - Because you miss the ambience of seeing these films in theatres under the optimum conditions of the times. Still Spotlight took the time to put together and I will appreciate for the effort. thanks.

Thanks! I don’t agree also with All the scores. I would have given Some movies a higher score and Some a lower score. The scores are calculated from the average scores from 3 moviesites (given by people who watched the movie). So yes... it’s subjectiv.

The list is based on audience scores. It is the average from 3 movie sites: IMDB, TMDb and Rotten Tomatoes 🍅. I myself would have put some movies higher and some movies lower. There are although movies which I haven’t seen yet. So I couldn’t’ make my personal list. Maybe someday!

What kind of criteria used to be considered the greatest best picture of all time? Nothing wrong with the Godfather placing number #1, I guess. Other best pictures winners are not popular in Asia in terms of box office and critics choice. People will not spend more money watching these movies over and over again if they don't like it.

The scores shown in the video are the average audience scores from 3 movie sites. All these scores given are for sure subjective. But many of the ratings are from hundreds of thousands audience scores...so it tend to show which movies a majority of people like.

I agree with a lot of these but definitely not all. Some voters have different tastes in movies and will prefer a musical over a drama or the other way around. And then there are some years like 95 when I'm ok with any of the 3 winning (Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction or Shawshank Redemption) those are 3 of my favorite movies, can make an argument for or against any of them all 3 were worthy of a win. Cool list though to discuss.

How is Annie Hall so high up? I know it’s considered one of the greats, but Star Wars is so much better. For proof AFI made a list of the Greatest Films of All Time and Star Wars was #13 and Annie Hall was #35.

The ranking in This video is based on the average (given by people) from 3 moviesites as You can see in the description. I’m sure that more people would like Some movies to be higher and Some lower. @@spotlight2948 I understand friend and I really appreciate your effort. Also people's perception and liking get changed over the time. However I think good/extraordinary films get cult status over a period and big budget hypes get fizzle down(Titanic, Avatar). Same happens for Slumdog too.

The Silence of the Lambs is way too high. That movie hasn't aged well. The movie is not up to par with the 2 lead performances.

It is a long time ago that I’ve watched The Silence of the lambs and I have to say that I watched it only twice. Wasn’t really paying attention the second time I watched it and I Must say that I Don’t feel the need to watch it again. Braveheart, which won also 5 Oscars I have watched maybe 3 or 4 times. The same goes for The Godfather trilogy...So yeah for me also The Silence of the lambs hasn’t stand the test of time.

@@maxwellpowell7413 ...Just to make it clear... Silence of the lambs is a good movie....I enjoyed watching it the first time...it’s just not the kind of movie I feel I have to watch again. There are many good movies I feel the same about. Also there are a lot of movies (some great ones some not so) I feel I have to watch again...why ? ... don’t exactly know ... certainly it’s something personal ... probably there is something in those movies I can relate to more than with other movies. 👍✅
