Agreed... with the exception of the _"Die Another Day"_ (2002) movie intro @ 8:34 .. For starters, it literally sounds like someone laid one of those stereotypical, generic preset drum tracks that come built into those cheap Walmart keyboards over the original James Bond theme music, meant to delete it, but accidentally forgot to remove it from the final recording and was just like _"Oops 🤷♂️ oh well. F it, too late now."_ .... I mean it's not even set at the same damn tempo or close to being in sync! C'mon man! 🤦♂️ Secondly, wtf was he shooting at us with? A freakin futuristic, alien laser blaster 🤨??? Cause that's exactly what it sounded like. And lastly... no, you know what? I'm gonna let the egregiously awful looking CGI "bullet" speak for itself..

Just something about the way Pierce Brosnan’s Bond is a simple turn and shoot. Unlike all the rest who are taking a knee or adding a slight jump, his is exudes pure confidence and professionalism. Those who are curious about Bob Simmons being mentioned as 007 in the gunbarrel sequence from 1962 - 1964, rather than Sean Connery, are the former (on some occasions) referred to as another 007. Simmons served in the military as a Physical Training Instructor at Sandhurst and was interested in being an actor at first, however, the idea of stunt performer/coordinator was far more attractive to him, he appeared in other features besides the 007 series (1978's The Wild Geese being one of them) before passing away in 1987.

pierce brosnan is leagues above the others from the walk, the turn, and the pose simple, stable, fast, and effective oozing with stone cold professionalism, exactly how bond should be

Did you know . The first couple of gun barrel sequences were not performed by sean connery, it was performed by stunt arranger/performer bob simmons

Tomorrow never dies is the best IMO, the perfect blend of the classic theme, modern graphics, and syncing the shot with the music.

Look and listen closely at Bob Simmons (James Bond stunt double) in the first three films, you’ll hear the gunshot of a revolver which is in his hand

That Goldeneye music, just night and day different from either of the films around it. Definitely makes a statement.

In my opinion, Pierce Brosnan‘s were the best ones because it has the second most realistic gun barrel but still the iconic transition directly into the movie that ist sadly missing in the Daniel Craig ones. But the coolest one is in my opinion the sequence from No Time To Die because its more different then all of the previous ones. The blood is missing. Which is a very creative detail and easter egg to whats happening in the movie itself.

I always felt the Goldeneye intro was the best out of all of them. My favorite Bond movie for sure! Freakin awesome in my opinion. That intro always gets me pumped for the movie! Can’t believe how old it is already! Pierce will always be my favorite Bond! Change my mind 😉

We're in an exciting time now. Even though the next version of Bond is probably still years away, we're in that transition period that's always exciting for the series. Getting to find out who the next actor is, getting an idea for the tone, seeing the first Gunbarrel for the new actor. And if you factor in IOI's Project 007, that's two new iterations to look forward to in this regard.

I think the best is the living daylights from Dalton. Good music and good pose.

I prefer the music in License To Kill. As for the pose, I believe it's the same for LD & LTK. I believe Dalton only shot this once and he did it perfectly. To date (2024/01/04), Dalton has THE BEST turn-n-shoot gun-barrel sequence. 2nd, for me personally, is Lazenby. The only Bond who kneels. And the blood drip erases him. Creative thinking for 1969 and a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT over Connery's turn-n-shoot. 3rd goes to Brosnan. His turn-n-shoot is both efficient & cool looking.

Yes. Licence to kill has a splendid music. Very agressive. but i prefer Barry. The music is better i think.

Best Audio (timing, instrument selection) GoldFinger Best Posture (for realistic gun pose) Thunderball (this is because this is the closest we have to someone shooting from the waist which is what would be called for in this instance if the gunbarrel was actually following Bond. You wouldn't take time to aim your shot at the shoulder level. I see that the director knew what he was talking about in that you have to basically thrust your hip with the shot but the actors just kinda jump into the shot, which you're not supposed to do. The hip thrusting allows you to draw your pistol from its holster on your belt faster.

My favorite out of all these is George Lazenbys barrel sequence... because he hets down on one knee... hes the only one to do that... then my second favorite is Die Another Day because you actually see the bullet... and my third favorite is no time to die for its uniqueness

I know there were many more technical limitations in the 60s/70s, but how did they mess up Sean Connery, George Lazenby and Roger Moores's (first one) with the shot of the actors having a black line between them and the Gunbarrel graphic?

Gunbarrel of Licence to Kill is the best; 7:03 angry music and Dalton actually moves like a killer shooting someone dead. The real thing, not posing.

Gotta give it to the 60s for the original, and as we can see now, everlasting concept, but they were clumsy af.
