I'd say a good twist is the one you could have seen coming but didn't. Red Wedding in GoT was a twist, but upon rewatch you notice things that set it up and you feel like a fool for ever thinking that things will be fine for Rob. Now imagine at the end of John Wick, as he's standing above his last enemy, the screen gets pixelated and it zooms out to reveal that the whole thing was a video game played by aliens. Definitely a twist, but... no, wait, that would make more sense than the movies. nvm

I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks the twist in glass was stupid

I personally feel like Glass is underrated, and for the most part people don't see what the real 'twist' is... I guess the secret society is meant to be a twist of sorts but for me it all settles on the fact that Mr Glass is and always has been in control, he outwits the society and knew what to do early doors! He never planned to get to the Osaka building and was always intending on using the carpark security footage to get heroes out into the world...the shot of him 'looking at the osaka building' but then you realise the security camera is in that same shot it great! I dont know, I can understand peoples issues with the film but I personally see it as being dunked on way too hard by people whp didn't really pick up on what was actually going on In the same way Infinity war was Thanos' movie, this was Mr Glass's and should always be viewed through his narrative at all points😊

I really like that perspective. Sam Jackson was definitely the saving grace of that movie.

Ha! I could just see her thinking "if THIS is what he thinks is romantic, I'm scared for him to show me a horror movie"

I hate the Village twist, and I'd rank the Visit over that -for sure; but I agree with the rest.

@@Ares91k Maybe it was just Shyamalan fatigue? I think everyone collectively groaned at the time this came out in theatres, and it seems that people have begun to enjoy the twist later on in retrospect. I haven't rewatched it since, so maybe it's not as bad as I remember.

I could see that if you weren't a fan of Signs, The Village would warrant some fatigue, but for me, those years from Signs and The Village was peak hype for Shyamalan. Every time I rewatch The Village, I see it with someone who hasn't seen it and I love talking the twist with them. Also on rewatches, knowing the twist changes the viewing experience which I think it pretty cool.
