Yup, 3 Rangers! 😁 Glad to see them getting the recognition, but it's because they won the WS last yr, and MLB seems to show more clips of the current (the previous yr) champs, maybe a clause in its network contract, to promote or show more of that team, in the next season, Idk. 🤷

Wow, I would never have thought there were that many just since 2010. When Langford hit his yesterday the Rangers color analyst thought they would come up with some unique stat, but turns out it happens all the time. Even 2 other Rangers have done it since 2010.

The vast majority of "inside the park homeruns" should actually be singles or doubles with subsequent errors on the fielders. Still exciting plays but there is no reality in which those should be considered home runs.

The only one you could make a legitimate case that should have had an error was Connor Gillaspie with the Giants. Otherwise, all of the others involve big/weird bounces off the wall or players diving and missing, which don't count as errors.

All inside-the-park HR's, & nearly all triples, require poor defensive play. Neither stat would really exist if they blamed poor effort instead of the very strict requirement of handling the ball poorly.

@@TinKnight With Triples to not be that you have to either A have an odd bounce off of a wall or b have a stadium that has some part that makes the feat a bit easier (which there is like only one of those since Tal's Hill was removed at Minute Maid.)

@@Josh-ut4wv Exactly. There are a few parks where the right launch angle, EV, baserunner speed, & outfielder positioning can make a "natural" triple possible, but overwhelmingly, you can't have triples nor inside-the-parkers without defensive screw-ups.
