So many people are saying in the comments "________ was original? makes me like the song more" or some variation of that. All these songs are original, sampling or interpolation, is still creating a piece of art that is original. Everything takes some shape or form from another thing, art inspires art, music inspires music. Especially with Frank Ocean, these songs are very original and very meaningful. Slowing down a drum sample or rewording a line from a Beatles song doesn't make a song LESS original, it just adds more layers to the meaning of a song. I'm just concerned that people watch these videos and look at a song with less respect because an artist wanted to share ideas from another artist to incorporate into their music. Have a wonderful day

Galt's Gooch How? Sampling takes skill, you have to find the sample, be able to cut, match the bpm then be able to find the key in order to actually make it sound like it belongs there, look up people like J Dilla, sampling isn’t as easy as it seems

Galt's Gooch I used to feel that way, but I think of it in a similar way to photography. They are using something that is already there, but put the subject in a new perspective and context. On the surface it seems simple, but it is a tough thing to do really well.
