I can relate to the seat heater stuff. I’m a VW tech and I take apart seats all the time. I didn’t invest in tools for it for a long time. I used to just use a flat head and a loop pick to completely de-upholster seats to replace the frame or PODS pad or Heat element. Getting the right tools for the job made that warranty 2.30hrs a lot faster and easier.

If you look on those Snap on ratchets whats making it look different is they went from putting the ears where the head attaches to the actual head on the ratchet instead of on the bar. I have both styles and can say the updated version where the head has the ears is much stronger

Amazing collection and great video. It amazes me how much function every drawer has. I’m just a diy fix my own stuff kinda guy. I have a craftsman 5 drawer rolling box with an old 4 drawer top box that is getting stuffed. So I just bought the new us general slate gray 5 drawer tool cart during Black Friday deals at harbor freight. I’m sure that will fill up too. It’s just cool to see what the pros accumulate during their careers as tech mechanics. So many things would have solved so many headaches in my driveway 😂😂

It’s true! It’s the reason techs buy such big boxes. They can justify it since more tools = easier job = faster work = more money.

Unfortunately I'm that guy in my shop. Basically the only guy who has big setup and the only one who gets on the trucks every week. So everyone just rapes my stuff. I have a few kits that get used almost every day and I have yet to even use them. I'm about to just shut it down though.

That’s a really tough spot to be in. When you feel taken advantage of, it can get out of hand quick. I remember one time - I was the only one with a grease gun with good grease because I was fed up with the terrible grease guns that were provided and always empty. So I just bought my own and kept it in my box. When techs would see me use it, they would ask to borrow it.. use up all my grease and I’d be left with yet again another empty grease gun that I have to buy grease for to help everyone else. I got a bit petty at that point. Hope things work out for you though!

@@ToolBoxTour yeah it does suck. Lately I have been kinda giving them a hard time and telling them to at least go to harbor freight since they are too cheap to get on the trucks. I purchased a nice hole saw set from my mac guy. Spent some good money on it. Once people seen me walk off the truck with it, they borrow it daily and I have not even used it yet. The other day I opened it up just to look at it, and the paint is worn off most of saws and just plastic shavings all in my kit. It really pissed me off 😡

@@ToolBoxTour plus I'm the only one with a good tap set and rethreading set. So you can just imagine how much that gets raped. Fortunately they are snap on, so they are warrantied. Also I'm the only one with all 4 size torque wrenches. 1/4,3/8,1/2 inch snap on digital tech angle and a Mac 3/4 beam style. So those get raped. My stomach turns everytime someone walks off with one of my digital torque wrenches...

@@ToolBoxTour i wish some of the labor times were jokes, engines have dropped from 9 or so hours to 5.2-7.1 under warranty and short blocks are 9 and changed compared to longblocks. next time you talk to your friend at this hyundai dealer ask him about the cylinder head t-joint campaign on the veracruz like 2007-2009 model year. you can still make some half decent money though because I'll take warranty work over no work
