The T-schaped anchor lifts are actually the esiest, bc they pull you straight in the snowboard. The button-shaped lifts are terrible for snowboards, bc they pull you in an angle. But still, they are okay I guess.

It's because you don't straighten out your board when unloading. It's your fault not the skiers. I've done both for years. You should be required to ski, and all skiers should be required to snowboard. It adds more respect to both sliding styles. I've only been hit twice in 47 years on the slopes, both times by a snowboarder, on their heel side

I went skiing a few years back and I was so paranoid that I ofc had the bar down, the bar got kind of stuck so when it finally went up it was too late to get off the lift easily. I tried to get off right away but I got scared and hesitated, I made it off the bench AFTER it turned and if I got off a second later I would have gone down and very long way before reaching the snowy slope. I was very shaken by this. The next day the snow was too powdery so I had to cross country the entire way down a mountain and I was so tired and grumpy from that so I stayed in the lobby the rest of the time we were there.

so funny! Haven't fallen since the first year I started snowboarding. There's a trick... use both feet around the front boot lock area. ride that one foot side down the front of the lift and drag your backfoot slightly on the snow with half boot on board and half off. lol Leg spreading might seeem to create more balance, but it widens your balance width and makes small forward moves less saveable also, less tacky surface there, so more likely your foot will slip off the board.
@johnklaus9111
9 ай бұрын
If you are on right side of lift exit, facing down lift exit, put your heel slightly off the board and step down lightly. Board auto turns to the right. Left side, you guessed it, put foot on front side of board and touch snow lightly. board turns left. Beginners on boards should never go center of the lift chair as you can't use this trick! Once you learn how to board, this just isn't a problem anymore. honestly. 😊

Flat board it and point it straight down. No edge. No angle to the left or right. Only when needed, turn with the correct edge. Otherwise just stay flat board and go straight like the exit in this video but not angled like she did. The worst seating position is left seat on a forced left turn or right seat on a forced right turn. If in the worst seat, try to push off the chair with your hand and get as much speed as possible so you can get in front of the skiers who are laughing at you.

For those that have gone snowboarding/skiing enough, you'll notice the ski lift stops fairly often. And 99% of the time the reason for that is someone falling right as they get off. So it might seem embarrassing but don't feel bad if it happens to u. It happens to a lot more ppl than u would think.

This is genuinely my biggest snowboarding fear because one of my first time’s snowboarding which was like 5 years ago I almost tore something in my knee when I fell getting of the chairlift. I was stressed thinking I’d take too long and get in peoples way and the hill getting off was super steep for the first couple metres which sucks for beginners like me. Since I only had one foot in the board when I fell and my body twisted almost 180° around it was all focused on my knee. Dr said I didn’t tear anything but it definitely messed my knee up for a while and was super swollen, I assume I just pulled something really bad. Haven’t been snowboarding since then but I plan to try again this year.

Turned toe side to stop (my preferred side) while turning to look at my husband… slipped and twisted my ankle. Cried out in pain in front of everyone and limped off to the car. My next trip is on 7 weeks and I’m already nervous for the lift. My ankle is black and blue and throbbing. Will take a couple weeks and exercises to recover. Send good vibes for the lift for me 🥲
