Imagine how awkward it would have been if 2 soldier were fighting hand to hand, then suddenly the clock strikes 11 just as the one had the other in a death grip. They just had to suddenly stop and be like “hey, so, you umm…want to get a drink or something?”

In reality the fighting continued for a few hours after the armistice was signed. In true fashion, American commanders refused to call off planned attacks.

You'd almost never know that half the lines in this video were dubbed, because our audio recorder went all French on us half way though, and gave up. Still, just wanted to assure people that our mouths do indeed move in sync with our words in real life. Most of the time.

reminds me of the case of Henry Gunther, who died 1 minute before the war ended. angry at being demoted, he bayonet charged a machine gun nest despite the germans manning it trying to wave him off, and his comrades yelling at him to stop. he was shot dead he was posthumously promoted from private to sergeant

Something that fails to be understood today is how terribly slow communication was in WW1. All information from headquarters was sent via pigeon, runner, or telephone (if the line wasn't already cut an hour after it was as laid).

Probably the most underrated comedy skit channel on KZitem. Ever since you've started to ditch the videogame angle you've hit stride after stride with the historical/hysterical skits. Perhaps some older history next? The spanking of Napoleon's botty? The Maori vs the British in the storming Gate Pah? Hell the Punic wars in ancient history are comedy gold. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next. Frankly, you deserve a promotion to Knight, Squire. Baron even!

There's the story of Henry Gunther, who with only a few minutes left decided he wanted to assault a German checkpoint along a road. Everyone knew it was going to end so when he was charging the germans didn't soot and were shouting at him to basically get him to stop. When he kept coming they realised he would end up killing a couple of them so they started shooting around his feet to try to get him to stop. He kept coming so shot and killed him at 10.59

I remember an artickle I read about a british soldier in WW1 who survived the war and on his way home in England as he was passing by a house that was being knocked down, a pebble landed on his head killing him on the spot. Then theres the English soldier who kept having nightmares about a battle and about a war. And in WW1 he saved a young german corporal by the name Adolph Hitler...

For those sad for the soldiers not going home, they survived. Due to the durability of the Stalheim, it stopped the bullet and only knocked the soldier unconscious for a half an hour. One soldier was collecting his dog tag but the soldier that got hit woke up. The dog tag collector was shocked. As for the allied soldier, his medkit stopped the shovel. The substance you see splatter is one of the medicines he was carrying.

I was hoping for more Farquhar Hill rifles or P14s ; But alas, all we got was crippling Prussian defeat. P.S. Penalties the true British weakness ( I say that, but its not like the scot ever made it some where that that was notable)
