I’m so glad that people recognize how great Yul’s performance in Cook Islands is. Honestly, in the dark times of Survivor, some viewers would’ve danced the sugarplum fairy in order to get a winner like Yul in one of those seasons. His game was that ahead of its time.

Hes good but like Tony the super idol makes his game a lot less impressive. Its so much easier and safer to play when u have 100% guaranteree ur not going home and u dont even need to worry about playing the idol at the right tine
@liamblackmore3829
2 жыл бұрын
@@survivorbest4589 That’s fair, but Yul’s idol play even with a super idol is some of the best ever. The way he is so level headed but can be calculated and cold. He forces Jonathan to go with Aitu and then votes him off anyway, he perfectly blindsides Cao-Boi to protect his idol after using his alliance to figure out its weakness and destroy it, and he found it with ease (the quickest super idol ever found). Everything else about his game is astounding, his jury management is perfect, his strategy, social game and alliance making and even challenge prowess is all brilliant. He is a one of the GOATs

I think you are underselling Parvati a little. She really only flirted with James. She was one of the first that had an alliance on a separate tribe (Natalie and Alexis) and an alliance with her own tribe (Amanda and Cirie) which always put her in the best position.
@kharihammon9784
2 жыл бұрын
I feel like Parvati had the best winning strategy HANDS DOWN! I personally wouldn’t say she’s #6 but a brilliant strategy. I feel like her game is the best for modern Survivor: Actively burn a early jury to paint yourself as a jury goat. This is risky but it paved the road for her endgame as she was a #1 to everyone within her alliance and knew she’d be sending people out she knew loved her. Not only only her social game saved her but her perception of it to her competition did. Not only did that make Amanda a prime target of taking a shot at Parvmanda but also if Amanda ever DID get eliminated. Parvati falls into a bunch of back-up plans being a #1 to both Cirie and Natalie. If Erik bulldozed his way through immunities, Parvati has a likely chance to make f3, even f2 as Cirie was staying loyal to Parvmanda which clear HURT Cirie’s game as her, Natalie and Amanda were all so loyal to the person who had the hugest shot to make it to FTC instead of say.. Cirie taking a shot at that. (Believe me, I think Cirie played the best game and had great strategies but Parvati had great longterm ones!)

I expected to hate this list but I actually really like it, even the rankings I disagree with I 100% understand the rationale behind like Kim, rob, and earl playing against week casts or Brian, aras, and chochran, getting there alliances pagonged if they enter the merge without the numbers, and the underedditing of winners like tommy and Sophie. I do think this lost works almost better as a player rankings then a winner rankings personally but that is absolutely not a bad thing ether. Personally I usually rank winners based on there winning game and nothing else but that often gets players like Brian and Boston rob ranked higher then they would be on a player rankings and people like Michelle and Ben near the bottom when they are genuinely solid and consistent players of survivor. Basically what I’m trying to say is even if you disagree with the rankings at least try to understand the rationale behind it (heck, OUAI literally gave his criteria at the beginning of the video) instead of writing it off completely. And even if you still disagree, can’t we just all get along for once

Here's my argument for why Boston' Rob's win on RI is far superior to his almost win on AS- coming into AS he was a last minute addition to the cast, not nearly the power player that Lex and Kathy were, so expectations for and towards him (from his castmates) were low. He was never a threat to be an early boot like the bigger players (Colby, Ethan) so once he got his hooks in, he could ride that to the end. But that means that he had a huge target coming into RI- that he was able to work and charm his way into his tribe is a testament to his immense social skills. Then, once he's in and in the power seat, he has to contend with another alpha male in Grant, and a total loose canon in Philip. When people evaluate his tribe, they tend to only look at the girls, without giving Rob the credit to manage two tricky male players. IMO, the reason Rob's tribe looked like a bunch of dummies is due to how expertly he played them.
@kk_33
2 жыл бұрын
A lot of Rob's tribe on RI have admitted to only seeing him on HvV. Most of them had never seen All Stars or Marquesas, so they only saw the likable underdog that got screwed over by Russell. Then when he was put on the season in opposition to Russell, his tribe naturally were excited to get him. I can never fault Rob himself for the cast they chose to put him with, and his game was impressive considering the cards he was dealt. But overall, it's just hard to feel that impressed when he had so much stacked in his favor.

I don't think that's the actual reason, I think it's moreso that people aren't impressed with winners that go on comp runs. I think his strategic game was also pretty solid for his season but when compared to the Parvati's, the Boston Rob's, the Todd's, the Kim's of the world, his win is not especially exciting tbh. Plus, he's not really fully playing the actual game of Survivor until the merge (a gripe people also have with winners like Michelle and Erika) and some of his individual wins were crapshoots where he would've gotten voted out had luck not been on his side that day (that one challenge with the number combination comes to mind, Ian would've beat him if Tom hadn't stumbled on the correct order by chance). Still impressive, winning Survivor is inherently impressive, but he wouldn't breach my top 15 tbh.

I still think Sandra is the best survivor winner ever. Despite her title, most people still severely underestimate her, which she admits to the jury in Pearl Islands was a contributing factor to her getting to the end. I think she uses her mouthiness and bluntness excellently to make people see her as honest and to pit herself against the villains everyone hates, making her an attractive vote for the win. She also manages to make people think she isn’t playing hard so isn’t a threat by simply voting whoever and seeming unbothered in challenges, whilst she spies in the bushes and makes the relationships to get the information she needs to win. Honestly think that without her Queen reputation in game changers and WAW, she could’ve won them too with her under-the-radar strategy.

I feel like Bob's win was very refreshing in Gabon. Considering how much that season included a group of mostly toxic, bashful, conniving, and mean-spirited players, Bob winning through playing a very honest and pure game and pulling through was a breath of fresh air. @@survivorbest4589 I disagree. Kim actually made a lot of strategic mistakes in One World, but it didn't matter because she was up against maybe the weakest cast ever. She wasn't able to get away with making those kinds of mistakes in Winners at War.

@@bigbuffguy9589 Kim did NOT make many strategic mistakes. The only one I could think of was not picking kat to go on reward. If you’re talking about her choosing sabrina and chelsea to go to the end, those two were goats just as much as Alicia and Christina but those two would probably be more platable to a bitter jury. I also don’t know why you hold Tom west man and Natalie Anderson in high regard if you’re talking weak cast and not making strategic mistakes. Also natalie Anderson was the first boot so Kim got away with a lot more 😂

I understand Erica not getting ranked higher, because of that one twist. Not her fault - you play the hand you're dealt - but the Hourglass twist probably left a sour taste in most people's mouths, and it's always going to affect her winner's ranking. BTW, I loved that Danny (and Kiki) got some measure of redemption by winning The Challenge USA. (edit) also, was not a fan of Cagayan Tony and the general chaos of that season. So I think he was ranked too high here. His Winners At War ranking I'm ok with, although it did seem that most of the jury were unwilling to give Nat a win (fair enough given the circumstances). Figured it would be a closer vote than we got.
@tristangriffin6687
Жыл бұрын
You’re tripping if u don’t think Tony’s the goat. Cagayan he was clearly the best there by a mile. His chaos is what made him so fun. Winners at war, 20 winners he didn’t get a single vote and controlled almost every single vote. Natalie was voted out 1st. If she would’ve won she would’ve been the worst winner imo. She relied only on her physical play over on exile. Tony stayed the whole game and never received an advantage, with Natalie actively trying to get him out the whole game. Yet never got one vote. Greatest game ever played by the greatest to ever do it
@kevwwong
Жыл бұрын
@@tristangriffin6687 If your criteria for being the best is "his chaos made him fun", you're not giving me the best case for him being the best. Willing to hear you out, just give me some better reasoning. For WAW, you misunderstood me a bit, as I said that I'm ok with Tony's ranking for that. So let me expand a little bit on my thinking. I don't think Nat would've won, but I felt that more jurors would've given her credit for doing whatever it took to get back into the game, and that she and Michelle did control those last few Tribals. Then again, I thought Michelle would get a vote as well. She didn't play poorly, and a no-vote final doesn't really do her justice. I don't think Tony played a perfect game on WAW, but he showed a lot more maturity than he did on Game Changers - he tried to play the same game as he did on Cagayan there, and people were not having it. Chaos? I would say it was there, but in a controlled fashion. And I think that control is what helped him get to the winner's circle on WAW.
