Buy a small plush animal at the dollar store, cut open a seam and remove the stuffing from the body. Leave the head and arms. Put a small bag of this inside and seal with velcro. It's comforting for little kids and you don't have to worry about the ice pack being too cold on their skin. I suggest dollar store plush critters because the fabric is usually thinner, you don't want one with thick fur or you won't feel the cold.

This is what disposable ice bags are made of. Our school nurse makes them just like that except she takes duct tape and puts it across the ziplock part and folds it over so the ziplock part is extra secure. Lasts longer and no spillage usually.
@Frie_Jemi

First, you need the 91% rubbing alcohol or the ratio is wrong. The final solution must be 18-20% alcohol. If you get the cheapest alcohol it's 41% so you mix 1 cup with 2 ½ cups of water. Or use ½ cup vodka and 3 cups of Hawaiian punch. Then when it's not frozen any more you have a cold cocktail!

Gotta make sure you get all the air out NEVER and then it just won’t work after I double bagged it I didn’t put it in a plastic garbage bag and tie it shut close to the water I cut off the excess top And then you are much more likely to keep dry. I don’t use the alcohol because I don’t want tells alcohol all over my furniture bed wherever I use the bag. And because it doesn’t freeze, it’s really just not as cold as ice. I learned this trick when I had my knees replaced. The hospital nurses would come with ice bags continuously.

When it comes out it's initially flat (which may be desirable), but after it's left out for a bit or held against the body it can be molded and shaped around your arm, leg, back, shoulder, etc and for the most part stays until it thaws out quite a bit. ❤ *lay it flat in the freezer
