Your videos are so refreshing and such an inspiration. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the variety of projects you have done and the fact that you embrace synthetic and natural fibers. I am not a fan of animal fiber or mohair, so although other blogger videos are entertaining, I do sometimes feel discouraged. Thank you for vlogging your knitting journey. Love it. Please continue.

Just found you, this is quite an impressive accomplishment. Not to mention a good review of many patterns I am looking at. And on a student budget you are able to pull off nice looking wearable garments that don’t cost over $100 each. I have used some of this yarn, but see there is more moderately priced ones out there to try. Good work in your further studies!

So good to hear you again! Wow! 35 knits, 60 books, plus your studies all in a year....amazing! Liked all your knits except the yellow tank. Yes, re-do the bottom...it would be cute with just a straight no rib finish. Also, would you consider reknitting the waist of the dress so that it is one continuous piece? It seems like you could rib the waist area and then reconnect to the skirt with no seam. You have such a cute figure which the ribbing would enhance and it would take away any bulk from the existing waist seaming. Yes, there are several designers i will take a look at based on your knits and recommendations. Thank you for taking the time to show us your achievements. Congrats on passing your exams and best of luck in your next year!

So nice to see you and ALL the projects. Regarding expensive linen- I have made almost all my linen tops from reclaimed thrift shop sweaters. Cheap, soft from being washed numerous times, and usually long or short sleeved sweaters that yielded enough yarn for a cap sleeve or tank top. I have a couple of these in my favorites already, but added the Next to Necklace, thanks for the ideas.

Congrats on all your achievements! 🎉 KZitem proposed your video and I am very glad I clicked on it. I loved seeing all those tops (most of them I did not know) being worn - so much more informative as a picture. And I like your comments about each, very informative. I also appreciated that you did not show the banderole - this takes so much time and I want to knit my own stash ! I have one suggestion for you: frog the garments that you do not (like to) wear and use that yarn for something else that you will love to wear ! I do that once a year and it is very satisfying. It is sustainable and cheap. You can frog as easily as you knit while you zoom!! After frogging I usually put that yarn away for at least one month, then my mind is fresh for a new project. I wish you success, happiness and health. Greeting from an old Swiss lady 🇨🇭

I'm impressed by the fit of every sweater....espeicially through the neck and shoulders. Other than your omnipresent bust darts, do you make modifications to get that great fit, or is it that all the designers you've chosen are just that talented?
@thisorangecouch535

I don't make modifications in the chest and shoulders, I just always knit with less ease than suggested because I have a narrower upper bust and shoulder width than my other measurements would indicate! Thanks for watching :)

Love your podcasts and great to see you back! I was wondering if you would ever be willing to talk about waist shaping and how you decide what kind of waist shaping to do and kind of the measurements you shoot for(ie reducing x inches from bust to waist)? If not - if you have any resources you used when you started modifying your garments? Thank you!
@thisorangecouch535
Жыл бұрын
Hi there! I learned how to do German Short Row bust darts from a Jacqueline Ceislak pattern and then began adding them to garments. In terms of waist shaping and dart calculation, I really just go by feel, I do not calculate them in advance. I generally start the dart 1.5 to 2 inches below the sleeve separation, extend the dart about halfway to the apex of my bust (less if it is a looser fitting garment), and begin waist decreases after the darts are finished.
