I made the Leggin’ pattern for my daughter and didn’t love it. Now I make her the Megan Nielsen Virginia leggings and we both love them.

Your blouses turned out beautifully - they will be a great addition to your wardrobe. I have been eying off the Patina blouse for a long time, however will need to make a fba which makes me nervous. I look forward to your cardigan review. I love the Sinclair Harper cardigan - I made the front facing a bit wider to give myself a bit more coverage and would thoroughly recommend this pattern.

The reason you don't like sewing for kids is exactly why I don't sew for my partner. He has a special talent for ruining clothes instantly. That's fine, do your thing man, but I'm not spending my sewing time making you a garment you're going to wipe your greasy hands on. It's lovely that your daughter enjoys the things you've made for her though! Even if they do get covered in mysterious substances 😅 I didn't managed to get my Sew Recreate the Look garment done in time for the challenge (in fact I'm still working on it), but it did prompt me to get it started earlier than I otherwise might have, so we'll call that a partial win, as it should be ready in time for my actual want-to-wear-it deadline. Also, your Patina blouse is gorgeous.

I think that’s a great way to look at sewing challenges. They’re great prompts to do on your own time ☺️ And same. I got tired of telling my partner to wear an apron when he’d wear things I made for him. Luckily the white mystery gunk did come out of my daughters leggings this time but I’m not gonna be quick to make her something else any time soon.

Everything you made looks lovely. I agree with you about the kids clothes. I don't sew for my children. I have very limited time, and I don't want to spend it on something that will just be outgrown in a few weeks or ruined. I think what you made looks fabulous though. I love the yellow skirt. Thank you for sharing!

Oh man, I would be so gutted if I sewed for my kid and they instantly ruined something. Hope it washes out! 🤞 She'll probably still happily wear it anyway, though. You managed to achieve a lot in April! The patina blouse is beautiful. Just a different design choice. I need to get on the square neckline train. I'm not sure that the Friday Pattern Company one is how I'll get there, though. Your experience with that pattern thoroughly put me off! 😬

It did end up washing out, but I’m still very suspicious about what it was though. For the Friday Square Neck…yeah, I guess I recommend sizing down but I can’t say I recommend the pattern? I really love fit of the By Hand London Tamzin bodice for a square neck. I’m thinking about extending it into a blouse…

@@brimichellemade oh, now that's an interesting idea... I haven't tried the Tamzin, but it has so many beautiful design elements. Might have to go on the list!

@@LostMyThread I’m not a fan of the rectangle midi skirt, but that’s an easy swap. The bodice is so good and it’s a fun sew!

If that “paint” doesn’t come off, maybe you can get some fabric paint and stencils and maybe have paint over it with her? It would be fun and probably be a new favorite?

It did come out but what a fun idea. She’d love that. Maybe we’ll take a look at some of her other stained clothes and see what we can do.

I love the my fit legging. You put in all the measurements and it makes the pattern to fit those measurements. Any size. So I can make leggings for the whole family with one pattern. Including anyone pregnant.
