Watched the documentary many times since it's release, never get tired of watching it. Great to see the history of The Real Thing, how they became The Chants, to the SSB, to VP and to then the group everyone knows as The Real Thing. Hope that they will play some dates later this year, in the UK. One thing just occurred to me this evening though, and completely forgot about it, remember Hill Street Blues tv series? Now I know where the composer of the theme got his inspiration from - kzitem.info/news/bejne/0Kup1YmIiWh-ZWk is the theme, listen to 'Can't Get By Without You' but take the Hill Street Blues theme down a semitone, and it's there... The piano and structure...

An absolutely fantastic doc. I’ve watched it twice now and it’s such an amazing but also tragic story To me they r up there as one of the best ever acts to come out of the U.K. They have recorded and written songs that will last for a very very long time

Songs remind me when I used to roller skate to. I saw them in concert years ago when they played along side rolls Royce. Ray lake was not in that line up that year. Only just read that he passed away and that he had a troubling life with mental illness if this is true I think this should be highlighted

I'm interested. I've never heard this song in my life. Sounds like a cross between Native New Yorker and a lot of Barry White grooves.

Yeah..! Can you feel the force! You can feel in people’s attitudes. Yeah, years later:- People wised up! That’s the force of music bringing peoples together.

If that had been today and they were a white group- wouldn't have mattered how talented they were. They'd have been forced to "diversify".

Sad sweet dreamer by sweet sensation a all black English band from mosside Manchester hit number one 2yrs before anyone one had heard of the real thing 🤔......a lot of quotes in the film by people other than the real thing are nonsense 😂....to sum it up the real thing one of the great British soul bands of all time that's a given ?? But I'm afraid sweet sensation from mosside manchester preceded them by two yrs 🧐...so all you posters at least get your facts right 👍
