Love your videos which are very informative. Q for you if I may, I'm looking to buy a second HomePod so I get stereo sound for my Apple TV as I like the design and sound it performs and would be a nice set to my deco. Would you say go for it... or wait as they maybe improve on the current model or just will launch a small model, but will remain to sell the current model alongside it. Your opinion would be great. Thanks

Hey! Sorry it took me so long to respond! I would say you may want to hold off. Even if buying the second generation isn’t worth it, the first generation will reduce in price. Apple will probably discontinue it on their website but places like Best Buy will more than likely have it at a discount. Obviously, if you don’t want to wait for the second generation to come out (which is understandable, we don’t have an exact date), then go for it now. I suggest looking at a refurbished option so you can maybe save at least a few bucks. Anyway, I hopes that helps a bit.

I love the design of the homepod as well, but my only issue is the price. I would be incredibly excited for the homepod mini.

Reduced inferior sound no different than an ordinary speaker with a still very limited Siri not the equal of google assistant. This is your wish and hope ?

KZitem reviewers will rip it open with buzz saws to see what’s inside. They absolutely destroyed the original HomePod in several videos on KZitem.

I don’t wan’t a diminished sounding HomePod. Inferior sound leads to increased sales ? Wow. With a Siri that’s still limited in what she’s allowed to know and still not at the intelligence level of Google assistant or amazon echo. Even with the demanded reduced size, people will still complain about Siri and her knowledge base.

HomePod is like having a big iPhone speaker. They’ve missed the point, a high quality speaker isn’t something you update every 2 years. In terms if smart home Apple can’t compete with Amazon at this point. They have An entire range of speakers some which even come with built in Zigbee hubs for out of the box control. From a smart home perspective, you don’t need high quality audio in every room, just an input device hence why you can have echo dots in every room for the price of one HomePod. You can then buy an echo input and connect that to your home sound system or get a bose or Sonos system that will integrate well into the system. Google also has this set up too. You can’t possibly do this with HomePods without spending over $2000. You want to be able to turn on your lights (Phillips hue) etc from anywhere in the house, you want to be able to set up different rooms so when you’re in a specific room, the echo dot in that room can perform actions specific to that room. Adding all the face recognition stuff is going to be cool but still useless as it fails with the mandatory tasks of a smart home system. The voice assistant needs to be as cheap and accessible as possible because the appliances cost so much. I have both Alexa and HomePod and HomePod is for music and is for smart home stuff.
