Just wanna point out that Natives have a superstition where you’re not supposed to whistle at night because it could summon a skinwalker/evil spirit, and in this scene 13:13 she whistles and immediately after you hear the predator make the iconic clicking noises. I feel like killing the guy with no feet or weapons was just like Jeremy said, the Predator just either being fed up with letting humans go, it deciding that they were the top of the food chain on the planet, and all needed to die, or that it couldn't tell between which ones were and weren't a threat, and was done taking chances after somehow taking some many wounds. The movie overall looks good, but the writing and plot are pretty suspect. It's not the case that the darts bounce around until they hit their target, they're individually guided projectiles programmed to home in on whatever the laser site is pointed at. When he comes out of the mud and fires the dart at her, the dart swoops around in a big circle to hit the predator rather than coincidentally bouncing around until it hit its mark. The REAL sin of this moment is how did she know exactly where the predator would end up so that she could plant the mask in the perfect position to nail the predator with a headshot with its own weapon? For that matter, how'd she know that the predator would save the dart gun until he was in the mud pit? :P

The difference isn't from the Rabbit, as a normal Thermal scan shows mainly the Ears and Eyes as the main heat source. Drawing the line at the chain makes sense and fits with the lore of Predators. Predators do not like attacking things that cannot defend itself or sees as weak as there is no challenge. The coyote was focused on something else, but it wasn't defenseless. Same thing with the weapons. it has advanced weapons, but their prey still has a chance to fight back. A chain or weakened prey prior to the hunt puts the prey at a disadvantage and there is no worth or honor in hunting something at its best against what you have. Predators actually have a code of honor, and although most of them follow it, it is usually considered more a guideline handbook than a proper rule book. This specific predator is an young-blood, pretty much an adult, but otherwise unproved against true challenging prey like a xenomorph. They must kill anything worthy on the way so they can finally be accepted into their final trial. He's pretty inexperienced, given how he fell for pretty much any trap laid for him and even some that weren't, this is particularly noticeable by the fact he attacked a lot of different animals without really knowing how worthy they are, so he was trying to find his way to the top of the food chain. Now about its specific conduct: Trapped prey is unfair game and absolutely shameful and a dishonor. Doesn't matter if you're a hardliner or not. That's why he left her alone. Using thermal vision is sometimes frowned upon, specially if you've been challenged to a duel, but otherwise pretty much generally acceptable. Finishing wounded prey is cool even if they're not a threat to you anymore, and although less honorably for you (if you're not the original hunter who wounded the prey), it is still mercy killing and a moral duty, but you should be willing to share the trophy with the hunter who previously wounded the prey if it wasn't you.

7:28 Actually there is now way it could work. The rope would add much additional drag which would heavily mess with the accuracy. Furthermore you have pull the rope far hard stronger than you thrown the axe for it to came anywhere near your hand - assuming if you manage to catch it and not cut your arm off. Also rope could easily tangled up during the throw making your axe useless. And somehow her rope is always the perfect length to be able to pull it with single move. The whole axe thing is the most unrealistic part in the movie, it would be better if they called is a Magic Axe of Returning +1 than having the whole rope thing. Besides, she seems to throw this axe way stronger than her mass is suggesting. Maybe there are some ultra trowing techniques that I am not aware of, but it looked as if she had Thor strength while trowing this axe.

@@lmpoopingpigeon Ehh... There is something called inner consistency of fictional world. You create a fictional world, establish it's rules and there is the inner world realism - as long everything is consistent in that fictional world. For example anything Tolkien wrote is very realistic, because he was maniac of inner world consistency. Creators of Prey where very focused to realistically portray Comanches and we can assume that physics is the same as in our world, because nothing says otherwise. And even if a man would throw that axe I would have hard to believe that it could be thrown with such force, because this axe does not have steel razor sharp head, but is made from stone and just seems to light. Probably the sound effects are overblown and video is speed up and instead of making it cool looking it looks fake.
