Really happy to hear Geno talk about leadership with the young Russian players the team's acquired. I hope he's able to help mentor them and ease any homesickness they might have. Thanks for posting!

would've been nice if they signed Tarasenko to team with Geno and Bunts...that line would've been insane

For the people who seem to have this need for Sid to play his final game in a penguins sweater it’s great. For those of us that would rather see him with a chance to hoist the cup again, not so much. Not sure why he’d sign up for 2 more years of mediocrity on top of what this year will certainly be.

It's his choice and I respect it. If he decided to leave I'm sure I would not like it but I'd still respect his decision. Maybe he just likes Pittsburgh. Leaving will not guarantee that he would win a cup either. Certainly it could ensure a playoff spot but that's about it.

Love Geno saying he Sid and Tanger arent just playing to play, but still wanting to win, that surely sends a good message to all the other players on the roster

Love Geno. Not only one of the all time greatest penguins but he is, without a doubt, one of the top 15 players to ever touch the ice. A team player. A winner. a Pittsburgh Penguin!

Top 15? No. Top 75? Definitely.

@@noisy_crick3t How did you arrive there? Statistically, he is 37th on the all-time points list. The ONLY players that I would, legitimately, take ahead of him are: Lemieux, Crosby, Jagr, Gretzky, Ovechkin, Sakic, McDavid, Yzerman, Messier, Kane, Forsberg. When in his prime, he was, simply using the eye test, a top 15 player of all time and, in the rare occasion that the opposition made him angry, he would push it to overdrive and become a beast mode player. So, utilizing empirical data, he is a top 37 player of all-time, realistically, he is a top 15 player of all time. (We can argue about the likes of Howe, Orr, Dionne, Esposito, etc...but: 1. I wasn't around to watch those players and 2. In my view, those players wouldn't have even been recognized in today's nhl).
