Good day ntanga Semi pro here😂😂😂😂 So my take on growing in bags If you are monetizing from your project, id advise you to do the following 1. Buy your growth mixture, instead of organic compost to grow your seedlings. 2. Buy wood shavings and put them in your growing bags and pour lots of water in the bags. 3. Do a research on the type of fertilizer needed to grow the crop you are planting and buy water soluble varieties. 4. Growing in bags requires you to have root growth stimulants which will be applied upon transplanting. 5. Drip irrigation, it will save you on water and fertilizer compared to flooding. I've seen others using 10L bottles or buckets and connect them to a pipe and mix the water and fertilizer in the bucket then it will drip slowly into the planting bags. 6. Irrigate frequently, from time to time you have to irrigate with fresh water to flush out the excess fertilizers in the growing bags. 7. Don't place the growing bags directly on the ground. Place them on top of bricks or a gutter if you want to harvest the irrigation water and re use it. But i don't advise you to do that. Reason for not putting the growing bags on the soil is because we are trying to avoid the roots from venturing out of the bag and piercing through the soil and acquiring soil borne disease, it beats the whole process of growing In bags. 8. Make sure you get rid of any molds and algae upon emergence. That'll be all from me today😊
