Can you replace new bearing on top upper main without you take engine off the boat?

Very skilled lads here. I always got to smoke when doing work like this also. Engine sure had a good smoke also LOL. I'm in the middle of a 76 135hp Johnson similar to this but its a looper. Wish me luck!

they only made a crossflow V4 in 76', loopers didnt come out in V4's until 1985 with this style.

Mixing the early style with the later much lighter rods is a HUGE no-no. The big h beam rod will throw it seriously out of balance! Missing the cam roller. Didnt use the correct gel-seal on the crank halves, didnt see a torque wrench on the rods, didnt see you set the caps properly. not sure why you put the crank in first like that, just makes it alot more difficult. i see you re-used the old pistons. fine if you only want it to last 100 hrs.

why would the old pistons only last about 100 hrs if re used ..? just wonder how you know that

@@johnmccarthy9670 20 years as an outboard mechanic. if the skirt clearance is right on the edge (90% of them are if they have hours on them and just get honed) the piston/s are allowed to rock ever so slightly more, which accelerates piston ring wear/blowby. 100 hrs isnt actually bad if all you want is a running motor for a few seasons. done right with a proper bore job though and they can last thousands.
