I do love these motors but the issue is it will cost you about 4 times as much as gas outboard.

Are you planning on doing a series of smaller motors in the future? Like 50hp? Or do you prefer to focus on the range listed on your website?

Hey MiQ, well for the moment we are going to focus on the ones advertised on our website. However yes, we might come up with lower hp. So keep an eye out!🤩

I reckon the market of 20-100 hp must be huge. Maybe too big? A long rig, 50 hp, should be lighter and more durable than today’s dino-squeeze-oozers and give a very big share of the market. 😉

What about electric motors that can retrofit to a Volvo Penta stern drive or a Mercruiser stern drive? I have a Mercruiser V8 with approx 320 hp engine with a Mercruiser Bravo III stern drive. In a few years does the engine need to be rebuildt. But it can also be replaced by an electric engine. But I do not think there is no need to replace the stern drive. Perhaps rebuild it and update it. It have a dual prop system so it is really nice. Can your system be retrofitted to a Mercruiser stern drive?

Yes, our motors systems can easily connect to Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, Konrad or Yanmar Sterndrives. We can also connect to water jet and shaft with or without gear.

The price needs to come down by around 75%, they are incredibly expensive and do not need to be. an electotor is not as expensive as a internal combustion engine to make. i understand about controllers and esc etc but again these are not as much and can be got for cheaper than a set of carburettors... so why are they so expensive ? and the crazy price will make this another good idea that will die.. the motr should be as cheap if not cheaper than a normal outboard of same hp rating.. batteries will obviously be expensive but they will come down in price .. but the motor is just stupidly priced by someone who thinks he can make millions over night..... think of the future and make something affordable....... would be a good idea to have system that can be put on existing mid sections. then you could be onto a winner.

Hey Phill! We understand your concern however, our prices are as tight as they can be. As you have mentionned every part is essential and the prices are high still because of the small quantity ordered. That's the rule of Market vs Demand. That's not just controllers and batteries indeed 🧐 As with every new technology as soon as the market grows the prices will come down. We are doing our best to do so 😉 Additionally the electric motors are allowing you to cut a tone on maintenance and so on. 🔋

Phil clearly never went to business school. Think of the design costs and engineering costs that went into building this company. If you think its as simple as building a boat motor with some parts and plugging into a power source I honestly have no idea how you can even tie your shoes by yourself.

@@poweredbyevoy valid points then an interesting contrast is that Henry Ford grew his company by setting his price so everyone could afford his product and the competition couldn’t compete. That’s how he took the market by storm. You could bulk order components a truck load at a time, gain efficiency in assembly and drop the price while maintaining the same profit then your customers benefit by saving. Once more of your engines are out there over time customers will need replacement parts which you will make some money on this increasing profits.
