First of all, I should point out that authentic Ewa Agoyin is made using just dry pepper seeds. However, Dry Tatashe is added to help tone down the heat a bit. The seeds are blended using a special grinder, that way, the seeds are thoroughly blended, thereby making the stew look really smooth. My blender can't grind dry seeds, hence the slightly rough texture.
Ingredients:
3 cups Black Eyed Beans
3 Cups Palm Oil
8 Pieces Dried Bell Peppers (Tatashe gbigbe)
2 Onions
1/2 cup Dried Pepper Seeds
1 inch Ginger Root
2 Tablespoons Dried whole crayfish
1 Crayfish or beef seasoning (optional)
Salt to taste
