Hi dan is there a way of making it a folding stove? I can see it being a pain once it starts to distort, and on a cold day when your fingers are really cold it could be a bit tricky to put together. I prefer made in England to be honest but at the end of the day it’s yours you can make it how every you please. As it stands I can see it selling for about £25 but if it was folding maybe £40

Needs to be thicker! It's distorted after just one burn and it looked a nightmare to build and disassemble, a folding one will work better and will be able to compete with the current market. It needs a carry case to protect the stove and more importantly to protect everything else in the rucksack from the dirty stove. It should definitely say made in England! The longer rack on the top is a great idea but will make its pack away size much bigger so its not really required. A good prototype that needs refining but once you've got it right you'll do well. As it is now its a budget stove. Oh.. And I agree with a previous comment made by someone else, sell it on Amazon! Your sales will be considerably higher, you'll have a much greater customer base and this could be a successful future career for you. Good luck!

Looks great, well done. My issue would be whether it’s going to clip together after a few uses, the frame will warp and buckle a bit, that’s why I prefer the hinged ones. I’m no expert though, hope it stands the test of time.

Nice EWM I'd take 1 looks bang on I like the big door for feeding wood I prefer this type that slots together over the folding ones. It's gonna warp slightly mate no matter how thick it is. I sell stuff online for a living, if your going made locally you won’t be able to compete with Chinese imports for low price so go for quality. The thing is many of the Chinese clip together stoves are actually pretty decent for the money. I bought a Lixada one after seeing it on the EWM channel (at least I think I saw it on his channel, it was a while ago). I'm not sure there's room on the market for such a similar item when the cheaper ones actually do the job okay. I did think an affordable quality folding stove would perhaps work though - not too many good ones of those to choose from - and the reliably built folders have jumped (if not pole vaulted) in price, and cost the earth now, due to their associated names and rep.

Great Idea ... Agree with some comments ... Make it a Quality stove to beat the cheap Chinese imports, so Yes thicker Stronger steel. A hinged system would make it easy to assemble in a cold winter.. But more expensive to make .. so it's a trade off ... hhmm Maybe not ! ! One good idea would be to add extra shelf or push through rods to fit a Trangia both Gas & spirit burners .. this would increase it's versitility and therefore increase sales ! ! Yes ... Made in England ... for the English Woodsman is a MUST . I know it's always back to the drawing board, but perfection takes time but is always worth waiting for . Go For IT !!

That's a good size design, seems to have enough volume for a good sized lasting heart which will help with refueling. I like the large locking tabs, these may make assembly and dismantaling a bit more tricky but personally I would have no problem with that as stability in use is more important. The design is aestheticlly pleasing and Im glad you opted for the Britain logo. You seem like a perfectionist and a honest guy so I would trust you have any wrinkles ironed out before release, so I would be interested in buying one. As far as cost realisticly being British made you will have to ask a much higher price tag than of comperable sized Chinese units.I would happily pay £50-£60 but thats a lot to do with own my personal finances.

A great stove for now. As others have said, a folding stove will be much better. Just by reading these comments you’ll see that people are asking for it... listen to your “audience” they are your target market for sales. Make the folding stove. It WILL bring your more orders. Don’t mess any more with this design in terms of assembling it by hand. There are tons of Chinese versions already of these at cheap prices. Build the folding version and make it incredible. That’s where you’re going to succeed. Make a decent carry pouch. Once you’re confident with the new design, send test versions to some of the UK’s best bushcraft KZitemrs to review it for you (@Simon, bloke in the woods, @kent survival). You’re doing a great job. Dan, with your job in the metal trade coupled with your hobby in the outdoor lifestyle, you are best placed to pull this off. I would seriously think about taking on professional advice on how to progress. Your local chamber of commerce can help. You will be up against mega rich Chinese manufacturers that will rip your designs off and produce them for less than it would cost you to buy a bag of crisps(almost). There are legs in this Dan but get your business head on and seek advice. Having a great product is just a small part of the equation. I will buy but I am a fan, you need the wider public and people who don't even know you to love and buy it to make it a viable proposition. Best of luck and I am behind you all the way.

I liked it. Big enough and practical for woodland camping where there is fuel in abundance. On the light side though and I would go for 2mm steel minimum....it's not a backpackng / upland stove (obviously). To compensate for additonal material costs, you could radically cut the tooling costs by reducing the number of slots/ vents. Pricewise, I haven't a clue to be honest, but if you go into full production, be sure to make a profit. Good on yer for taking the initiative and I'll buy one when it is available.

I would buy one. RRP I think would be between 30-40. Design revisions I would make would be to just have the EWM logo on the front and lose the 'Wood Burning stoves' this would allow a bigger cut our for loading in the fuel (also your EWM is your brand and if it was me, I wouldn't try to dilute that down) and on the back make the flame logo massive because it would look sweet. Also maybe a cut out in the sides to slide the pan supports through and lock into place to bring them closer to the heat, I think this would offer more variation in temperature that the current design. Good luck with the venture!

Looks like large dimensions, which I like, and a nice design to boot. I appreciate the extra thickness around the pegs, for added durability - great idea. As is always the case with these kinds of stoves it does look fiddly, and slotting that final piece in may become awkward when some warping begins to occur (also, I don't always clean my current one off too well after using, so holding the various bits in place whilst getting the last panel to clip in can be a messy job). Personally I think a really decent folding stove would be the way to go - there's a lot of these clip together ones for highly competitive prices already on Amazon. In fact my current one is a Lixada, bought on your recommendation, and it works really well. However, there's not so much competition in the field of good, affordable folding stoves though. Regards the 'Made in...' dilemma: I think it was the right move changing it to 'Made In Britain', though I think 'Made In Yorkshire' would also be a nice variant. Alternatively 'EWM' would also work. Good luck, and I'll be interested to see where you go with this: as I've mentioned I have a good, working stove of a similar design, so I don't really need another right now...but I'd personally be interested in an affordable Folding variety.

I've commented once but it doesnt seem to be here so I will comment again lol.save yourself some work Dan by maybe not bothering with making the pot holder height adjustable, the difference is not worth it imo(I know it's only 2 slots but still)and make sure the metal strips are no longer than the height of the stove for packing away purposes,do away with a couple of vents as it's going to have plenty of air flow anyway if you ask me,dont be scared to maybe move the two side panels in 5-10mm and then you wont have to form the panels to make sure the slots have enough bearing if you get what I mean!those things will make your manufacturing process more efficient.do make it thicker and also make the slots a tiny bit roomier because it's going to buckle slightly no matter what.size wise it's perfect(for me).do try to find someone who can make a nice sleeve for it,even if it costs,i dont mind paying the extra for quality plus I'm dodging anything chinese if I can help it.take your time and test one multiple times for long burns just to make sure it's right, you dont want to make a mistake and have people come on your channel and be dick heads saying your gear is no good.one last suggestion, maybe give the option of selling an extra grill or grate if people want one for a bit of flame grilling.id pay 40 quid for something like that.hope this helps.good luck mate.

I would agree on a higher gauge on the metal, would also agree on hinges like the bushbox. I do sometimes use other flat packed stoves just to change things round, not everyone can afford bushboxes, so products like yours has a market. Good air flow front and back should be OK to remove the ones you suggested. Pot supports are good, I like to use two methods of fire, just in case there is no wood. Maybe but two slits in the side for pot supports for achocol or fire gel burner. Good job with the channel, and showing that you don't have to spend a fortune on camping or bushcraft gear to enjoy the outdoors. would be interested to see how it works out and price. Cheers Tom C

Good early effort. 1.6mm or 2mm guage stainless would also benefit it as it'll work better in cold conditions, hold heat better and be much easier to keep going (like the firebox) and would make it a quality item that would last a lifetime for the buyer (like the firebox). What a nice built! With the price: Above 20 $ you have to compete with the crappy chinese stoves. From 75 $ on the much more genious foldable Firebox/Bushbox stoves starts. So maybe 30 to 40 $ would compete with them. As an addition for your stove I would recommend a second pair of sticks in the distance of a Trangia burner and in height about 1 inch between the upper end of the Trangia and the pot bottom. Maybe you'll just need to adjust the vents on the side panels a bit to get more sticks to fit.

Hi mate, top job there. As you have picked up already it may be worth not having so much ventilation. It will weaken it quite a lot, also burn fuel quicker, on the plus side it does save weight. I think maybe your logo should be a little smaller too. It would be good to know the final weight, pack size, also if it will come with a bag to keep other kit clean. A titanium version good be good too. I would certainly buy one, maybe around £30- £40. You may also want to look at selling them on Etsy too.

I see a lot of ''make it a folder", and "I'd pay" comments on here. First, "make it a folder".... I do somewhat agree with this statement - I myself don't want to fiddle around putting a wood burner together, so I have avoided all stoves like this, mostly because of my hand issues. That said, I hope everyone knows that's a major design change which will possibly cost the man more money to produce. Thicker would be better, but also so would titanium if everyone is tossing out ideas. All that said, I'm going to comment on the "I'd pay" comments. First, think about what you're supporting - a NON-China made piece of kit. That should really hit home for you. Supporting your local guy, a small business venture. Second, think about what I just said - a Small Business Venture. It's on a small scale, he's trying his best to get something up and running, and likely doesn't have the money to throw at making thousands of these things to 'get costs down'. That means you aren't going to get it for nothing. Two things that I see all too often are people wanting things for what I call "China Prices" when they are made in the USA or GB, and "Free shipping". Well, I'm here to tell you that before you complain about higher prices for USA or GB made products, think about that 10 year old chinese kid working 12 hours a day for a cup of rice as payment. I don't know about you, but I don't like that. On to "Free shipping" - well, shipping isn't free. It costs money to ship stuff, so stop asking for free. I personally look at things I like and am willing to pay the price, and the shipping - I know what it takes to get things to market, I know about small business ventures. I don't haggle about someones prices or shipping - if you don't like the price and want it cheap, you want free shipping - you're buying cheap sweat shop China stuff. Pretty simple. Good luck with your new stove and other business ventures man.

Great looking stove! I would prefer thicker material, folding if poss, grill plate for the top, made in England, in a bag. If it’s a quality stove, I’d have one. You won’t be able to compete with Chinese £20 inc p&p. I think your main competitors would be firebox / bushbox £40 - £70
