Story 1: Creepy as hell😒 Story 2: “I suffered so other people should as well” is a crap mindset regardless of who you are. Being gay ain’t gonna change the fact you’re a bully, but at least he’s trying to make up for it

Story 2 reminded me of a story where OP was relentless bullied by a boy. Years later, the bully, now a transgender woman, contacted OP to beg for forgiveness and tell her that the bullying was a result of dealing with gender identity, wanting to make things right with the victims. However, OP, who was severely traumatized by the past, told the bully "you'll always be the boy who t0rmented me." Now the bully and other people are h@r@ssing OP, calling her a t---sphobic and an a-hole for not accepting the apologies. Sounds like the bully hasn't changed after all...

As a trans woman who went through tons of abuse while dealing with gender identity, the bully can go kick rocks. It doesn't give you a free pass to treat people like crap, and noone is obligated to accept your apology. Bullying can screw you up for decades. Also the bullies friends can also eat bricks. You're not an ally for defending an abuser, you're just human garbage that throws other trans people under the bus by making it look like we all think it's supposed to be a free pass for being a horrible human being. For the first one, here's my thoughts. First, if OP was desperate for a father figure for her kid, either of the still-present grandfathers would do just fine. That being said, the ex probably was possibly starting to work on claiming the little kid as a stepkid if he really never did get over his feelings for OP, but if she has no interest in resuming that romantic relationship, the absolutely cut contact with the ex. As for the second story, get the kid a new phone, but make it a flip phone on a pay-as-you-go plan that the kid himself is paying for out of his grocery store wages. That way, he's got a phone for emergencies and he's a bit more respectful of the cost of each minute he spends on it talking to his friends.

I'd like to know why the first op had such an intense visceral reaction to her ex calling her daughter his baby. Could he have raised some serious red flags around other children that she internalized?

As a 16 year old boy I can say that other boys are really infulential, I was bullied when I was younger so when I changed schools I wanted to fit in, and so I nearly started bulying. I think I stopped myself from this at the last moment. Now I am at limited contact with my friends.

Story 2: NTA but i do think that the punishment was too general, and did not correlate with the actual problem. Could be better to get him to volunteer at the local hospital. Or something to get him to understand how terrible was this action.

S1. The only reason your baby was calling him papa is because he's taught her to do it. Babies & toddlers mimic what they hear. Remember when you taught baby to say Mama? You said Mama over & over until your baby said it back to you. I wouldn't apologize to him. He was being sneaky where your baby was concerned. How many times did he say my baby to your child that you don't know about? Get cameras so if he comes back you'll have proof of what he's been teaching your baby to say. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Personally in story 2, I would have punished the kid by making him shave his head since he was bullying her specifically for her not having any hair, so he can go through the same treatment, he would be grounded, and any allowance he gets he has to use to buy the girl a wig, I wouldn’t get rid of his belongings like OP is cause that can be seriously damaging to a kid’s psyche.

Being gay is not an excuse to bully others and tbh that's why the cycle of punching down when you're being victimized continues. You shouldn't take out your frustrations on others, you're just spreading the pain atp and we definitely need a lot less of that in this day and age

He crossed way too many boundaries. And she was grieving so she ignored every single red flag. Cut the man out and move on. Because he was definitely trying to come in and replace your husband and that was just wrong. Second story I don’t even have to finish it to know that Momma was 100% in the right. There will never be any fucking justification for bullying a cancer patient. 15 years old! You are well old enough to know better no excuses in the world. She honestly wasn’t harsh enough.
