@@boopdeeb9444 yeah it’s the whole 3 extra years thing that makes this really weird, it doesn’t feel like anything but an attempt at revenge for being dumped. She elected for a cosmetic surgery, knowing she hadn’t healed from her past surgery trauma from the pregnancy, and it seemed to set off the same issues they had during the pregnancy incident 3 years prior. They broke up bc of that and she then used this as an excuse to air out personal dirty laundry, for the whole internet to see, specifically right after he announced a tour. It's sounding more and more that Book never really liked Destiny that much, Destiny was just the only person who would treat him in good faith, launching Book's meager Twitch career basically single handedly. It's pretty fucked up to then not reevaluate who you like and why after that, but then that's kind of been the story of Destiny's career, hasn't it? And what's crazy is I don't expect Destiny to change. Every time he builds the bridge completely by himself, because the other person simply isn't in a position to build a bridge with a larger streamer, and every time if the bridge needs burning he won't hesitate to throw the torch.

In regards to almost all of these little disagreements, I think Counterpoints is missing the actual point. When Booksmarts said Destiny's ban was justified, said that he randomly said the n-word, and said that he was manipulating the Bob7 situation as well, the issue isn't that he felt that way, it's that he came out publicly to share these ideas when he either didn't have the entire context, or in the Bob7 example, completely misunderstood the timeline of events. Same with the Sabrina issue. "Do you understand how the hormones of pregnancy might have caused her to change her mind?" It really doesn't matter if she changed her mind. Gus and Sabrina had a personal issue between the two of them and emotions were high. The problem is she came out to slam Gus publicly for such a personal issue. Counterpoints repeating if Steven "could see where he was coming from" misses the point of Steven's criticisms.
@scarletsletter4466

Agreed, & when BookSmart came out publicly & described the incident in the restaurant, he did so in a way that was super misleading. Tbh as a Latina I'd prob have been uncomfortable at a table with somebody saying that word also, but I def wouldn't have announced it online later in a way that made the person look far worse. The situation said more about Booksmarts own sensitivity & social ineptitude than about Steve/ Destiny In general I like this cop guy, so I don't mind him being on the channel. Everybody's feelings aren't valid. If they were we wouldn't delineate between the emotional response of something like a spouse that has good a reason to believe or be suspicious of cheating as opposed to someone being pathologically insecure and controlling. The entire field of psychology and psychiatry is predicated on recognizing and addressing what could be considered "invalid emotional responses" by comparing and contrasting people's mental states relative to a expectation of normalcy. The "don't invalidate my feelings" memery is a bastardized caricature of the clinical best practice of not directly confronting patients on their irrational or compromised patterns of thought/emotional responses because you can never be too careful when you don't know how they'll respond. Good counseling is predicated on the cooperative state of the patient. It doesn't follow that just because you shouldn't be shouting "your feelings are invalid" in the face of mentally compromised people that it's therefore true that feelings aren't ever invalid. if you're having strong emotional responses caused by delirium, empirical mistakes and misdeductions, and so forth - of course they're invalid. Whether you choose to use that word to describe it or not is irrelevant - if you're response to such emotional reactions are "It would be better if I/we/you/they didn't respond that way", that implies invalidity by necessity. This is what it means for something to be invalid. Stop spreading this cancer.

Given Destiny's recent ban and getting backstabbed by "friends" that he has helped by platforming, he is currently hyper sensitive about criticism his actual friends might have about him. Therefore, any criticism or comments made by friends will be looked at thru a suspicious lens and will likely not get the benefit of the doubt. The "who hurt you" meme is alive and well here.

Being compared to a manipulator isn’t criticism, it’s called an uncharitable detraction that only becomes charitable with evidence and context, in which Booksmarts knew said context, and that it wouldn’t Destiny comparable to Bob7 and still said it. Secondly, if Booksmarts was coming from the position of a “concerned friend”, then he could’ve very easily approached Destiny privately based on the many other times that his so-called “behavior” got him into trouble

I don't get why so many people perpetuate this idea of Destiny being super unkind and thriving off 'bloodsports.' The only time I've seen him being legitimately 'mean' is whenever someone goes out of their way to be a douchebag to him first, and even then his 'meanness' is always delivered behind a pointed argument engaging with the other person's ideas. It's like people think its 'unkind' or 'bloodsports' to just directly address the disagreements you have with someone- no matter how intellectually honest you are about it- without first pointlessly showering each other in fake af "friendliness" like you're trying to make an elevator ride with someone you hate feel a little less awkward.

The whole part of 'I havent enjoyed Destiny's content the past few years' really is disgusting to me on so many levels. Assuming BS ever engages with anyone about his actual beliefs: - We are talking about an opinion presumably developed over YEARS of time. You simply can't remember that wrong, but BS is standing firm that he never felt that way until VIDEO EVIDENCE is proving him wrong about HIS OWN BELIEFS. When PROVEN WRONG, he IMMIDIANTLY gives up and asks FORGIVENESS. That just isn't how anything works. - He walks it back though, an opinion that's COMPLETELY FINE. It's FINE not to like Destiny's content, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's pure preferences, and he doesn't have to defend that. But he walks it back anyway. I would NEVER walk back ANY of my tastes, especially not in entertainment. It's just disgusting to me this level of dishonesty, and the begging for forgiveness instead of offering clarification is just nauseating cherry on top. The constant lying to the point where BS can't even remember or keep track of them anymore. And it's about completely inconspicuous subjects, he didn't need to do ANY of this to begin with.
