I knew once you looked over at the Brookettes you were about to start singing lol. You brought an Erykah Badu/Macy Gray Type voice tone to a Lauryn Hill song. Neo soul overload!! Thanks for bringing another amazing video lesson

Is it possible for you post a video of the whole performance maybe you’ve already recorded it 🤞🏽it would help me to put the pieces together. And also guessing from too short examples of such a performance it made me very confident that it would be a great inspiration :) In any case! Thanks 🙏 for the lessons!

Yes, I mention that occasionally! But whenever I've done it, the uke falls out of tune quickly, so I don't often suggest it haha

suggested strumming pattern? (:

When I perform this live, I use a subdivided beat strum pattern that varies constantly. And here is info about subdivided beat rhythm and strums : kzitem.info/news/bejne/r6KXq5apjqdibIo My suggestion is to practice singing and playing with just the down strum until it is second nature and solid. Without that solid rhythm, you can't do more complicated strum patterns. If your rhythm is solid enough, you will naturally begin to arrive at your own strum patterns - essentially (and people don't like to hear this but it's true) - if you can DO a more complicated strum pattern, you wouldn't have to ask what those patterns are 😆 But ok, here's a lesson for a 'hip hop' strum : kzitem.info/news/bejne/zX2Dnp2ZcHt-l6Q
