Yet another excellent review. I have been meaning to check out exalted for a while now actually!

I personally very much like the Dragon Blooded. But I'm usually a storyteller and I enjoy making them NPCs to flesh out the world and gradually introduce the setting to new players via gameplay. One strength they do have is actually they have good teamwork abilities (makes sense due to their numbers) and to actually challenge a group of young celestials they only need to outnumber them by one person to actually be a challenge. Like yes they're individually weak compared to other Exalts but doesn't mean they're pushovers. I've had a session where my Lunar group got into a fight with them (3 Lunars 4 DBs) and though my players won they where exhausted afterwards with almost all their motes spent.

This is consistent with my experience, both in how my GM used them, as well as how they played out. They're good antagonists for a celestial, because they're just tough enough individually to be a problem, but not a steam roll. Not until you add more of them, at least.

@@AaronderSchaedel one fun thing you can also do is convert them over to your side as you work in the Shadows backing certain individuals and Houses to support your circle. Like I've never been a player but I have a religous prophet Zenith Caste character who was once an Immaculate Scholar who was deemed a heretic. Because the civil war will mostly be DB vs DB. But now imagine one DB faction that is being backed by Solars. That really would tip any stalemate.
