I will never understand how in certain geological areas people wear fluckin flip flops when they work. You don't wear the same pair of shoes you do when taking a stroll down the beach when you're around tools, tons of steel, heavy equipment, molten metals, chemicals, sharp metals and everything in between. Who cares if its hot? When it's 105 and 90% humidity in the South you still wear your boots. No it's free spinning. Nothing gets bound up because everything goes through the center of the swivel itself.

Yes absolutely. There is no limit in the rotation. Four or six hydraulic lines flow through a rotating barrel valve assembly that acts as the axle at the center in the pivot to power the tracks and sometimes a blade. How did the guy leave the excavator with it turning?
@billtmarchi4320
21 күн бұрын
They are supposed to be equipped with safety devices like if no one is sitting g in the seat the swing or entire machine is supposed to lock down. Possible the safety is unhooked or broken. I've ran old equipment where it no longer works so you always have to set boom down ground or risk it taking off like that.
@RalphMaGurska
21 күн бұрын
@@billtmarchi4320 but why was it spinning in the first place? Did the guy fall out? Was he out already and something went wrong? I've seen these videos before but never understood 😂
@billtmarchi4320
21 күн бұрын
@@RalphMaGurska not sure. Operator probably got out to do something and it started spinning . Maybe something fell onto the lever that turns it. Like I mentioned maybe the safety devise wasn't working. On the ones I ran I would always put the boom down on the ground so it wouldn't take off for any reason. I'm sure it wasn't spinning when he got out. The ones i ran were a lot bigger than that one and you sit like 8 feet off the ground.
@Cliffy1616
21 күн бұрын
@billtmarchi4320 Yeah the only way i see it spinning like that is operator stupidity. Excavators have a control lockout that you need to flip to operate. It’s always down by your left hand side when you sit down, flipping it into position so you can engage the controls usually flicks up a little safety handle that would be in your way if you wanted to hop out of the machine and so always reminds you to disengage the controls by flipping it back before you get out. So the only way I see a digger spinning like in the clip means either that little bar/handle that flips and blocks the door way is broken off, or the operator deliberately ignored it and squeezed around it when getting out. But as you said even then the bucket should be placed on the ground which would at least slow the spinning or potentially stop it if the bucket catches on a pile of dirt or something solid. So yeah basically just operator stupidity that would lead to something like that.

😂😂 I've always wondered how they upright those big machines when they tip over...🤔

Assuming it isn't broken too badly, it can be done with the bucket arm. The hydraulic force behind those arms is enough to lift the whole machine. They can even hang from things or haul themselves up steps. But if they done busted it good, or got it stuck in soft terrain, or at the bottom of a river......well....then you need another excavator, or a crane and some manual labor.

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again. Unless you’re falling in a volcano, never jump out of the cabin. The safest place in the radius of the machine. First guy was almost never gonna learn that lesson.
