If you deal with co-workers or customers in Europe, you may see numbers formatted in a European style. Examples include 1.692.504,37 or 7.291,96. In the U.S., we would format those numbers as 1,692,504.37 and 7,291.96 respectively. To convert the European format to the US format in Excel, use the NUMBERVALUE function. The NUMBERVALUE(text, [decimal_separator], [group_separator]) has three arguments.
