I've been a heavy sweater all my life, although I haven't been diagnosed by a doctor with a medical condition. For me, the most prominent area of swearing is my scalp. Unfortunately, this means that topical solutions aren't the most appealing.

I have sweating but at night- why and how can I stop it? 😭 it’s like a bucket was dumped on me every night. 😭😭 (it may be from where I live too- will report back when I move in a month) Edit: wow, there are so many ways to treat this- the electrical currents in water sounds so cool!

Glycopyrrolate 1mg prescription has been a game changer for me. Suffered with sweating hands and feet. I was so embarrassed at school that I was turning in wet papers. Doctors had no idea what i had. Hyperhydrosis was unheard of. Now, at 48 Glycopyrrolate has pretty much stopped facial, hands, feet sweating

I have had hyperhidrosis since I was a teenager, it started only in the armpits and I decided to do the sympathectomy, after that it has generalized to the entire body, except my hands, which are very dry. I have started with acne on my back and face after the surgery.

Botox is the only thing I’ve tried that worked for my armpits. The first year I needed to get it every few months, second and third year only once, then I didn’t need it again. Fast forward about 10 yrs and into menopause, I started sweating again, but only about a 1/4 of how I had been, but now my issue is odor. I’ve tried EVERYTHING, and the most effective things to use for me are fruit based glycolic acids like Surface Deep anti-odorant spray (which worked for a year or so then stopped) and Megababe - The Cream Deo which is Mandellic acid, Lactic acid and Niacinamide.

Can you please do a dedicated video on the inflammatory cascade and what happens in the skin when it kicks in? You've mentioned a couple of times that there can be inflammation in the deeper layers of the skin for a long time before any visible symptoms even appear. How does that work? How can someone recognize this happening before it gets out of hand? What are proven remedies for keeping inflammation under control? What are the effects of long-term inflammation on the skin? What are the most researched anti-inflammatory skincare ingredients? It would be very helpful! Thank you for the super informative deep dives!

Boyfriend sweats out the top of his head uncontrollably. We travel a lot and it really affects our plans because he simply - can’t get too hot . It’s so frustrating. Would Botox help this type of sweating he asks , or any other thoughts ? He even shaves his head to keep it cool lol

Honestly, he should just bring an extra towel or two when he goes out. He also needs to make sure he's drinking enough water to rehydrate while sweating. Sweating isn't unhealthy in of itself, it's one way the body rids itself of toxins.

Is the use of anticholinergics long term safe for cognitive/neurologic well being over the long term? Choline is so important for mental status and functioning especially as we get older. I was unable to tolerate the oral anticholinergics because it dried everything else out...except my craniofacial HH. My dentist was actually the one who told me it wasn't for me because my mouth was so dry that it would soon be affecting my dental health. (And that's just my personal body chemistry. I'm sure it works well for many people without those issues.

Sweating doesn’t seem like a big deal but it really can be debilitating. My hands and feet are the worst parts for me. I remember doing homework was difficult, shaking hands is embarrassing. A few years ago, I realized wearing socks and closed toed shoes really helps the sweating in my hands. At home, I’ll wear socks at all times. It doesn’t stop my hands from sweating 100% of the time, but it slows it down a ton. It’s not a cure, but hopefully it will help someone else.

WoW! From this video I learned- I probably have Generalized ,Not Primary hyperhidrosis. I am 52y/o female. I can remember from the age of 6 being wetter than other people. None of my relatives have it. At 12 when I started sports and that is when I knew- the other kids were not sweating like me. It was and still is "pouring" rain, compared to my teammates drizzle and dry hair and clothes. I have to wait a bit longer to take a shower, because I continue to pour. I would say stress, exercise, warm temperatures, and certain foods...those are my triggers to open up the flood gates. Thanks for educating this 52 y/o...now I know I am an "exceptionally" "normal" person- who is some what dysregulated- My husband loves me- even when I feel embarrassed - we still have fun. It is nice to know there's a medication available...and a correct way to use antiperspirant at night!! Who knew! Thanks guys!

Second question....I have had crabiofacial HH for some time now, and I believe it was triggered by years of wildly ineffective treatment with the whole gamut of new and old mental health meds. I've gotten off that path since it caused me nothing but side effects, but the facial and scalp sweating is making me more and more of a hermit. Just walking around the grocery store has my scalp, face, neck, and upper chest literally soaked. The rest of my body is dry/sweating a normal amount. I'm not short of breath nor do I have increased heart rate. I'm not in perfect shape, but I can certainly shop for food and go for walks without CV elevation...but I don't because I'm SO horrified. I've lost out on many job interviews because I'll go in and be soaked from head to chest, including my hair. That gives off a first impression that I'm dishonest and I'm distracted by the sweating. I've learned to dress in ways that hide it as well as possible and wear my hair up, but it's still pretty obvious. So I've even stopped going out with friends, church, and the thought of dating (which used to be really fun for me...most of the time) is just unimaginable. I've had Botox before for migraine headaches and it was extremely successful and I tolerated it well. Could Botox be used for this distribution? (Anxiety will make it worse if it has already started, but it doesn't seem to be the actual trigger...in fact, sometimes the sweating is the trigger for my anxiety, not the cause, I think!) Is compensatory sweating a large risk with Botox to the craniofacial area? THANK YOU so so much for addressing this on your KZitem channel. You guys are very real and down to earth and many of your suggestions have helped me in the past, mainly sifting through all the products on the shelves as my sun-worshiping teen skin has come back to haunt me in my 40s. I appreciate you talking about it and reminding us hiding at home thar we're not alone, and maybe there's some hope of effectice treatment!

I really understand why this could all be problematic for many, but as I have been listening to the different tools available for treatment very informative. I got to thinking about how your body cools down because you need to still be able to do that especially when it's hot outside and inside. Again good information.
